This show isn't very interesting.

It isn't...at least not consistantly so. Doesn't help that Hatchin is the only likable character

It's arguably a flipped set-up, but even then, dead family/friends in the beginning isn't so out of the norm.

Also, I don't actually think it's generic, but I do feel it's pretty standard. It's just willing to go further than most, which is fine. Doesn't change the fact there are some legitimately great fights, solid ability variety, and of course, awesome crazy faces. It still gives off a "trying to hard to be edgy" feeling, ESPECIALLY with Wild Hunt.

Akame ga Kill is pretty generic outside of 1-2 things. The author Takahiro also uses reuses shit all the time (especially a certain character archtype she always looks the same) but I guess AgK isn't a porn vn so its a bit different
