Ive been watching inuyasha for the better part of a decade or more, its def gradual but you do see them just fall more in love with eachother for a while now, some episodes are more gradual than others but its always been there.

For the series in general, I like Miroku when he 'gets serious' and I think his overall progression is decent. I'm more invested in whatever growth he has.

People go on and on about Sango's uselessness, but personally the repetitive wishywashyness about her brother is what kinda ruined her character for me. It's a compelling conflict one time, but not four.
