Yep, I was right. This episode is basically a combination of a fight from earlier that they skipped and a fight that was right in the middle of happening in the manga when this episode aired, so they made up their own ending that was stupid.

Since the manga isn't that popular in Japan they probably just said screw it we're not making a second season for this shit.
