I largely don't find it very funny as a gag series outside of saitama's faces (like the above ok scene which made me chuckle) and as an action series I feel it gets to Bleach levels of repetitive and predictable outside of Murata's art (or from what I've seen the anime's animation direction) which I enjoy more in GIF form then I do in context since at least in the manga an entire chapter of say

a robot flying and landing is a mixture of "that's not even fair murata is a God" and "... Thats it? Saitama'sOKface.jpg" then wait 3 weeks for another chapter

I'm not opposed to the show coming to Toonami since it's incredibly popular and should bring in great ratings, nor the rare night I'm able to join the group watch am I going to spend 30 minutes shitting on it like you guys did with shows I enjoyed but ya'll didn't, I'll probably just go the Seda route and not post much when it's on. I'd still rather watch OPM over any random episode of M&H or Shippuden.

Saitama sounds somewhat different than I anticipated, though that may be because I'm used to his Japanese voice. Either way, it's true to his character. Saitama is an OP guy who's bored of steam-rolling through everything, & this VA nails that aspect. Hopefully the rest of the VAs are on-point.

That said, I'm more hyped that WE'RE ACTUALLY GETTING ONE-PUNCH MAN ON TOONAMI!!!!! Hopefully JoJo & My Hero Academia are next!

About 2 months ago, tonight is a marathon of everything that's aired dubbed so far so if you want to catch up and check out the dub tonight is the night.

Build fighters didn't get a real English dub just a Taiwan dub I believe so it's chances on Toonami are slim to none.

I missed out on the awesome news from last night, but I think I got everything. Just like I expected, just like I wanted, FUCKING ONE PUNCH MAN will be first. Ushio who? J/K ;P

That trailer on the Toonami Facebook was pretty standard for their promos. I really liked how bored Saitama sounds, because he is bored. Good first impression.

Well this is interesting, Crunchyroll to get into the dubbing business, not to mention release said dubs on DVD/Blu-Ray. This includes:

- Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
- Berserk (new series)
- Twin Star Exorcists
- Free! (I thought Funimation had this)
- Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches
- Big Order
- Myriad Colors Phantom World
- Gintama (well, this'll be interesting to see how they handled dubbed)

I can't help but wonder if Crunchyroll would bother to team up with Toonami to premiere some dubs....though I'll guess "no" since they'd want people to check out the dubs on their own streaming service.

My only concern with JoJo is that (assuming we also get buu kai and super down the road) almost every slot on the block is tied up for awhile. JoJo is 2.5 years just for parts 1-4, gundam has another half year in 2017, hxh is 3-4 years, lol and shippuden and one piece. Jojo would make the block stagnate for a fairly long time minus one time slot.

I do agree that like OPM JoJo is more a matter of when not if (outside of Hulu paying some insane price to exclusive dub access) I'm just worried about things getting stagnate in the future.

a lot of voice acting has to come from the director. If you're not getting the best out of your actors, then you're doing a bad job.

Basically, Sentai tends to have shit directors.

I recall in one of JesuOtaku's old videos (before she went crazy) she mentioned that Sentai Filmworks had this one really awful director and he worked on Highschool of the Dead. Often getting tone and inflection wrong. I don't recall the name and I'm not sure if the video still exists (Blip purge and all that).
