Gotta eat up that air time as much as possible due to the anime being so close to the manga at the time.

That's not all that bad, especially since the end credits getting cut just meant longer openings. It just gets disgusting when the amount recaps every episode. At least Oda knows how to make some really jam-packed chapters.
