Oh I agree - bloodbaths don't automatically make for a better narrative. However there are NO stakes here. They couldn't even kill of Kohaku. They could at LEAST done that.

Looks like I was right, I didn't really miss much after a 10 week absence other than the Jewel and start of the final battle.

Rumiko Takahashi is alright. I enjoyed the first series. I'd take Inuyasha over SHIT 1/2 everyday because at least Inuyasha has progress despite the slow pace.

She does know how to make good romance that's believable.
