As I understand it, Eren failing to be a badass human warrior is an intentional joke on the part of the mangaka.

Which is great because at the beginning of the story they did an entire episode about Eren being possibly so adept at ODM that he could even use defective gear.

I feel like the opening part of this song is going for something similar to what that entire Attack on Titan ending is doing.

But that whispering doesn't work as well as that distorted and creepy singing in english. It just feels weird in my ears when I hear that Tokyo Ghoul opening whisper.

And the way their eyes widen in this show is so overdone.
