I don't want to be picky, but the lack of DKC2 and Chrono Trigger hurts. Like if it could've been 25 games instead of 21 and added in Chrono Trigger, DKC2, Super Mario All-Stars, and TMNT: Turtles in Time it'd be perfection.

What I'm surprised Nintendo doesn't do is make a stand-alone "Virtual Console" that allows you to download retro games from their store.
Agreed. With the NES Classic, there's a few games worth playing & the others are "eeh, I'll try these for a few minutes", but with the SNES Classic, this is truly a great list of games, even if I've already played most of them. SNES was my first console so I have much more nostalgia for it over the NES.
I'm rather surprised by no Super Mario All-Stars (that seemed like such an easy choice), DKC1 over the much more popular DKC2 (hell, they did Mega Man 2 over MM1) & Chrono Trigger seemed like a good choice since we got Secret of Mana AND FF3/6.
But what we got is still pretty damn good considering we're getting stuff like Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 3/6, Mega Man X, & FREAKIN' STAR FOX 2.
This does make me wonder if they finally figured out the FX Chip emulation problem considering Star Fox & Yoshi's Island are included. Maybe this means we could see those games on the Switch's VC eventually?

Star Fox 2 and Yoshi's Island are definitely big surprises. For those along I'll probably end up picking this up if I can actually find it in stores.

Their eps might start to become a tad more noticeable in the big upcoming arc since I think MadHouse kicked up the level of animation a notch for a fair chunk of their own episodes during it

Yes, we are. So far I haven't seen much difference from the TV-airing, but then again they were still maintaining the 10:55 a.m. timeslot by this point where it was making the Japanese top ten animated-TV rankings (viewership) no problem. So, there couldn't really be any financing issues.
And Hulu still seems to have the episodes only up to 79. I have not gotten to check out any of the BD editions of episodes 80+, it would seem

I don't need this...but at the same time I need this...
It's more to do with the selection of games. There are plenty of games on the NES Classic that I love but wouldn't want to put much time into going back to these days. Most of the meat with NES games comes from the need to play them over and over again to really get good at them and unlock their secrets, something I just don't really have time for these days. I had my fill of most of them as a kid, and while it might be nice to jump into something like Mega Man 2 for a little bit just for fun, I don't need to spend $80 to do that.
By contrast, the SNES Classic is loaded with meaty games that I actually would be happy to sink significant time into in 2017. Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy VI alone would be worth the price of admission (despite how many times I've played through VI), and there's still 20 more games to go with those, including Super Metroid and Mega Man X, which are two games that I will always be down for at all times for the rest of my life, EarthBound (which I've still never actually taken the time to play), and a new Star Fox game. And several other games that would rank extremely highly on a "greatest games of all time" list, just as an added bonus. There's just clearly a lot more bang for your buck with the games on that machine.
Shit I should cancel my Rightstuf order and get this at 17 bucks less.
