Gives all the fucks
This almost makes me want to make ramen again (stopped eating it because of my diet & how much sodium is in it).

Honestly for an organism with prehensile forelimbs, Meow and his entire species have completely illogical and barely functional arms.

Stay losing Meow :p

Over thinking in a series like One Piece or Hellsing Ultimate is dumb because in both the plot is a means to an end. Luffy gets his hands stuck in places so other characters can advanced the plot while he's stuck when the plot would otherwise wrap up quicker if he wasn't stuck, same reason Alucard is stuck on a boat. Are there explanations for both, yes (Luffy is a dumb ass, Alucard can't cross running water unless he has dirt from his homeland). Are they amazing explanations? No, but you're not supposed to think too much about them "this removes the character that could solve the problem for awhile so other characters and events can happen"

In works of fiction, regardless of how fantastical the narrative is, suspension of disbelief is still something that has to be considered. When things become hackneyed, internal logic betrayed, etc. they deserve criticism and derision. "Stop thinking about it" has always been and will always be a shitty defense. Thankfully, a work can still be enjoyable even with those sorts of flaws.

With Hellsing and what it pulls from Dracula, while its clear that Bram Stoker's work is an incredibly influential piece of literature, most people are completely unaware of its finer details. If Hellsing wants to use those more esoteric elements, its on that show to explain them clearly and not on the audience to have had to already read this tangentially related piece of literature from over a century ago. Hellsing goofed, not us.

I don't think he needs the dirt from his homeland, only Seras did. When they went to South America Pip basically straight up said, he was ignoring all the rules of the vampire, drinking wine on a plane sitting in first class during the middle of the day, while Seras is stuck in her dirt coffin. Whatever the Hellsing organization did, they basically made him close to invincible after beating his original Dracula incarnation.

The big issue seem to have (Alucard on a boat) is established in the anime even if it's a quick line that most people missed, the other major problem really isn't anything that would be in Bram Stoker's Dracula (invasion of England is illogical for reasons).

And I don't agree that "derp don't think" isn't always a bad plot point if the story itself acknowledges that it's not relevant. IE some stories will have a line like "it'll take too much to explain how this works" the point isn't that they can't explain it, but why it happened isn't important it's just what's getting us to what were focused on. Why/How England got invaded by Nazi Vampires isn't the focus of the show, the show is about Nazi vampires are here and their wrecking England. Yes we could have had scenes of seeing undercover nazi vampires shutting down communication, attacking all the military bases, knocking down planes/missiles meant to shoot down the zeppelins, etc. Hellsing Ultimate COULD show us these things, but in the end of the day it's not important to show, the point stays the same if they show these scenes or go "communications are down and there are traitors everywhere" and get to the main focus of the story, nazi vampires wrecking England.

Alucard's dirt is still in the plane in his coffin, Alucard is just so strong as long as he's near it on a vehicle he's fine to cross over water. Seras by comparison hasn't drank blood something the series points out over and over again and over and over again points out she's weaker because she hasn't awakened into a true vampire.

Such foresight... this show is 15+ years old and it was smart enough to be relevant to the current events of 2014!

I should have remembered the mention... I've watched this episode a billion times and it's one of my favorites.

Plus we got that awesome rapey blood-dripping-from-finger scene out of it!
