Wow, plagiarism much? Maybe with the money Trigger gets for suing, they can keep & maintain a budget so we can get more consistant animation.

Google image search says something called "mlp"

........WHICH TOTALLY STANDS FOR MAJOR LEAGUE PLAGIARIZING.

Oh, so it's My Little Pony.

Yeah, I'm betting there's a pretty decent crossover between those two audiences so the homage doesn't surprise me.

Reflecting on lewdness in general, an unpleasant memory bubbled to the surface of my mind.

At the toonami panel where Demarco and the gang announced Michiko and Hatchin, one fan asked them to bring Highschool DxD to toonami.

That question was preceded by someone asking them why they cancelled Bleach.

I imagine I'll feel it later.

Your urge to facepalm as you're reading this.

hey i played street fighter 4 with people for like 8 hours did i miss anything

i watched michiko and hatchin before did people like that episode because I wasn't feeling it

It was more interesting than last week's, that's for sure.

I feel like M&H is just all over the freakin' place when it comes to quality. It doesn't help the amount of subtly switches between "how the hell was I suppose to know that" & "OMG COULD YOU BE ANY MORE BLUNT"

Ha!

Like that'll happen.

Huh, finally getting around to watching Young Black Jack &....the art style feels more generic than I thought it'd be, considering it's by Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy). You see certain character designs & think to yourself "yup, this was made by the Astro Boy guy...so why doesn't it feel like it?"

Maybe it's the fact it's a '70s manga having its origin story reimagined for 2015, meaning it has to "update" its art style or something. It's mainly the eyes, I think, they don't seem as big or expressive unless it's a moment played for comedy, then it seems closer to his style.

Either way, it's a small flaw in what seems like it'll be a good series. Just bugs me when the style of the manga is kind of lost in its anime transition or it looks worse when they try to update it.

....also, watching this makes me wish for a new Trauma Center or Trauma Team game....

Edit: Oh, the ED flat-out shows you a comparison of what the characters originally looked like in the manga. Kind of helps illustrate my point, I guess, though if you get the chance to watch it, you can judge for yourself.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Gooood morning everyone. I actually made it through the night!

Dragon Ball Z Kai:
Freeza's done playing games, and shows Goku why he's the most feared being in the galaxy. Even the Kaio-Ken x10 is useless.
Oh and Ginyu switches bodies with Bulma. No idea why they kept this.

Akame ga Kill:
"Hey guys, Esdeath has big tits. Did you notice? I don't think you noticed that Esdeath has big tits. More camera angles."
This entire subplot is stupid...

Parasyte:
It's weird that this show has the same director as AgK. Maybe the emotionless aspect of the Parasytes works in his favor? Or maybe he didn't care when directing AgK. Who knows...

Michiko & Hatchin:
The story actually kind of advances, as we learn Hiroshi is really a terrible person that abandons people the first chance he gets. Yet Michiko is still lusting after him. Yeesh...

Naruto Shippuden:
Shikamaru just went full Batman! Though Shikamaru had some pretty good foresight to figure out Kakazu had extra lives. Hmmm.
And here comes Naruto to ruin the day....

One Piece:
Franky working hard on the ship. He's totally not going to join the Straw Hats at all you guys.
New Bounties! Poor Sanji and Chopper, screwed over in different ways.

Oh, so it's My Little Pony.

Specifically, it's from one of the Equestria Girls online shorts released a couple of months ago. A weird one at that; watching the short won't actually explain the context of that scene much. Two characters are competing to get into a tournament team and at one point they dress up as birds and fight for some reason.

I guess it probably wouldn't have made sense to cut it out entirely and have Bulma magically reappear on the scene.

Don't overthink it. Maybe AGK was his first major project and now with some experience and a few veteran actors the dub quality is improved somewhat, although it's clear that the extra nonnamed characters, line reads here and there, and an awkward lead voice can be quite rough at times.

This was 7:49 AM ET, way after Toonami ended on the West Coast. That and Sentai's Twitter going all for her, lol

Aww yeah, waking up with the General...

So thoughts...

DBZKai-Good episode, but it dwindles off at the end.

Akame Ga Kill-This show is bad. Just fucking bad. I didn't think we would have a show on the block more painful that SAO, but we found it.

Parasyte-A good episode because the people got pushed out the narrative to focus on the Parasites, who ironically enough, seem more like characters than the actual humans. BTW, that petite girl with the ponytail who wants Shinichi? I don't think she's ever brought up again. That scene was entirely pointless.

Michiko and Hatchin-A bit of a rougher episode. Music is still solid.

Naruto-Shikamaru should have been the main character. Him or Lee.

One Piece-Kinda drifted off here, save for seeing the bounties. OH Sanji, your suffering has only just started.

Both AGK and Parasyte have bad jobs done by their lead actors. AGK is much worse though whereas in Parasyte it's mostly underwhelming...except when he has to raise his voice and it becomes porn acting bad out of nowhere.

Adam Gibbs does a reasonably good job voicing Shinichi when he's being quiet and meek, but it doesn't seem like he can emote well when it comes to anger.

Which is gonna be a problem considering where the story is going.

Pretty much. Another issue is that aside from Grave of the Fireflies, there's not much else he was in for us to gauge if he can do better or not, compared to some VAs who've worked with Funimation.

DRRRR might be the biggest lost opportunity being aired at the absolute lowest point of the Saturday Anime block. It's either that or Code Geass. Both would kill it under the current TOONAMI brand.

A distant third is YYH. Uncut, with the spruced up video and dub that the Blu-Ray version brings.

DRRR's dub is so fucking good.

Naruto Shippuden:
Shikamaru just went full Batman! Though Shikamaru had some pretty good foresight to figure out Kakazu had extra lives. Hmmm.

He didn't. The important part was to get Kakazu's blood. That could be used to deceive Hidan into leaving himself open to attack, even if Kakazu was already dead. And if Kakazu was not dead, Hidan's ritual would provide the added bonus of damaging/killing him.

remember, Shikamaru said "Go over each scenario in your head at least three times." He considered multiple possibilities for how the battle could play out, mostly because Kakazu was still an unknown. Hidan is pretty stupid and easy to manipulate.

Actually, Kakazu is kind of throwing the whole plan into whack - even though hidan killed him, he's still alive. Thankfully naruto is showing up with plot armor.

Point is, this is just one of probably a dozen possible scenarios shikamaru went over with the team.

Basically, they've had Hidan figured out from the start, and know how to use him to at least damage/cripple Kakazu. Even though Kakazu was an unknown, they could plan something to put him in a weakened state by using Hidan against him. The rest would depend on their own abilities.

I must be weird. I've found Akame ga Kill much more enjoyable than the first half of SAO2 so far. It's completely stupid but at least when it's serious it's not for something like "I know what it's like to kill someone". NO! YOU KILLED SOMEONES AVATAR IN A GOD DAMN VIDEO GAME! Oh no, I'm in trouble! Oh wait, no I'm not because I'M A FUCKING GOD AT SOMETHING IVE NEVER DONE BEFORE!

Zonic

I'd argue Akame ga Kill has been more entertaining in how bad it is in comparison to the first half of SAO2. SAO2 either came closer to having good ideas but failed or was just boorriinnngggg (THE DAMN CAVE)

Why would it get remade? It holds up incredibly well.

From a technical perspective, no, it does not considering YYH started airing in Japan 23 years ago. Does the story and dubbing hold up? Absolutely, but there's a 0% toonami wastes money trying to acquire a dinosaur from their past not named DBZ, and that one was only because the series was updated.

Sailor Moon Mondays: Sailor Moon Super S: Episode 150

Ah yes, at long last the great changeover has been completed which give us a new status quo to deal with as we are formally introduced to the second quirky miniboss squad, a record for this series, The Amazoness Quartet. In contrast to The Trio, they seem to be targeting the dreams of children, which makes a lot more sense when it is thought about. Also we get the return of the pointless yet creepy circus stuff that has been missing since the beginning of the arc and it is no less nightmare inducing. Anyway, it is a decent introduction to the new order but nothing to write home about, still, recommendation to watch.

Sailor Moon Mondays: Sailor Moon Super S: Episode 151

With the new adversarial quarter established you would think it would be time to return to formula but this is not quite the case just yet as we instead get a focus episode on Ami that finally establishes her new attack and she actually gets a transformation sequence, I am guessing this is the start of finally giving the Sailor Guardians their new attack and power ups, which have been sorely missing . As far as Ami focus episode goes this one was actually pretty good, focusing on her perpetual insecurities but in way that feels fresh as she deals with the application of knowledge as a mere hobbyist in the face of people who make composing music their business. Also, in spite of this being an episode dealing with the internet it seems less dated then I thought it would be. Obviously a lot of this episode would be vastly different in terms of technology and knowledge but Ami discovering music and possibly love via the internet is still something that could work today. Recommendation to watch.
