it wasn't that it would kill him, it was that he was so weak it would kill him...still a dumb way to keep a bunch of characters in the story

So they imply that Nagato could have done this better if he wasn't almost out of chakra, and there doesn't appear to be a time limit on performing this jutsu, so why not wait a few hours, get that chakra back up, then do this.

The thing is, the creeper market provides a lot of profits, so there's no incentive to change. They'll leave the worst of it out of the Western collabs, but that has no bearing on Japanese-made stuff. The otaku are still going to pay through the nose for boobs.

Plus, the studios and artists that collab with Western productions are usually the ones that are used to doing it. Most of the industry doesn't give a shit. I mean, hell, a lot of anime adaptations are still made with the idea that you've already read the manga. Even Toei puts spoilers in their episode titles because magazines spoil the episode to everyone in Japan. They wouldn't do that if they actually cared about the Western market, and they don't.

Yeah that was always stupid about Naruto. How do all these people know all these forbidden death techniques? How are you good at that your first and only try? Also, STOP TELLING CHILDREN ABOUT THESE TECHNIQUES.

Like Summoning and Shadow Clones? Cool.

Spitting fire and shooting lightning? I guess, sure.

Stealing souls and bringing people back to life? Bullshit.

Especially since later it's revealed that
Madara's plan was for this jutsu to be used to bring himself back to life, which it is, so there's no need to rush using it here. There's no time limit. Madara was dead for years.

These prologues are kind of silly but also cool?

tbh I kind of appreciate that her voice is so screechy, because it makes her feel like...an actual cat person instead of a generic catgirl

This isn't one of those, though. This jutsu doesn't kill the user. Nagato just doesn't have enough chakra after fighting Naruto.

If the concept of "what deserves to be animated" were broader in the West, you'd 1000% see more fanservicey shows from our shores (though thankfully they wouldn't touch underage shit). I wasn't referring to the occasional boob juggle. I ain't a fan of that stuff, but if that was the worst anime did, I wouldn't think it was as big a problem. I'm talking about the super excessive stuff like the stupid amount of fan service they gave Yoko in Gurren Lagann, or the stupidly skimpy outfits so many women have in lots of action Shonen (cough cough bleach), or the absolutely disgusting shit like in Kill La Kill. Stuff that is quite popular in anime and among the fandom and yet has serious problems with fanservice and worse.

I ain't gonna make a moral argument about it or get outraged, I just think it has absolutely zero place in anime and will argue that whenever I can.

Honestly, she sounds like I expected to before I ever heard her speak.

It seems like she's, uh, supposed to be a bit intentionally annoying (to the other characters). So I guess we get to test how much we can stand.
