It never aired on Toonami.
The original was too violent to air on Toonami when it was on Cartoon Network. It could definitely air on Adult Swim Toonami, though.Damn, that's pretty strange considering everything else that's aired. Sorta makes me sad as I prefer the original Fullmetal Alchemist run over Brotherhood.
Kill (la Kill): Sword Art Online: Do I really need to explain this? Do I really need to explain what is wrong with the paragon of all that is wrong in anime?
I would very much like an explanation as to the hate for SAO. As I mentioned in my previous post, the hyperbole for it is off the charts. Is it just a joke at this point or is this actual criticism?
The bolded is the kind of stuff I mean. Every Toonami related thread or anime thread is riddled with stuff like this. I'm not trying to point out Shard in particular, but I'm curious to the thought that something like SAO is the "paragon" of what is wrong with anime and not something like Oreimo or a multitude of others. No, that second portion that includes a plot line that the girl is attracted to her "brother" makes it much worse. Every thread there are so many calls saying it is the "worst thing to happen to anime" or a "blight upon the genre".
Also, what makes something like SAO garbage and yet Tenchi Muyo for instance is still held in high regard. Am I mistaken in that Ayeka and Tenchi are related similarly to how Kirito and Suguha would be? (Not blood related, but still family related with attraction) Why does Tenchi consistently get a pass?
SAO is poorly paced and shoddily written to the point of being kind of shocking; from boring characters to bullshit plot points to doing a terrible job of fleshing out its setting, it is entirely amateurish and does just about nothing right beyond some good action scenes from time to time. I'm on a phone right now so I can't go into the fine details, but suffice it to say it would be bad without the whole "I love my brother" subplot.
Tenchi gets a pass for several reasons:
1) it doesn't shove it in your face like SAO
2) they're alien royalty with foreign customs
3) most of that attraction is relegated to joke status as the girls bicker
4) the show is hard to take seriously. a lot of its appeal comes from just how ABSURD it gets.
Sorta makes me sad as I prefer the original Fullmetal Alchemist run over Brotherhood.
Kill: Hamtaro
Kill: Eureka 7
Save: The Simpsons
You must vote to save a show. This thread is much more difficult than the 90's thread......
Okay,
Kill: .Hack//Sign
Kill: Superfriends
Nothing ever happened in .Hack!! I watched two seasons and all it was about was if people were addicted to MMO's in this show. It was the slowest paced anime ever with nothing EVER happening. The character's that did know a little what was going on didn't even give a shit.
No explanation.Kill: SAO
Kill: Tenchi Muyo! GXP
Save: Yu Yu Hakusho
No explanation.Kill Bakugan Battle Brawlers
Kill Bakugan Battle Brawlers
Save Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
I hate SAO as much as the next guy, but I think crap like DICE and Wulin Warriors should be the focus for a while.
Kill: Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (I hate you super fist of the nose hair)
Kill: Sailor Moon
Save: Dragon Ball Z
I take it you're not from the states?
Toonami is a television block on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim that specializes in action cartoons.
It played a major role in the anime boom of the late 90's/early 2000's, bringing in fan favorites like DBZ, Sailor Moon and Naruto.
It was cancelled in 2008 when Cartoon Network lost their shit and tried to be Nickelodeon 2.0. But on April 1st 2012, Adult Swim held a special airing of Toonami that re-invigorated interest in the block. One month later, Toonami returned to the airwaves and has been growing and growing since with no signs of stopping.

I hope that's the bad Star Wars I picked. If not I'll change it. And Bobobo was hilarious when I watched it, so I'll stick to that unless something else is threatened. Also don't know much about SAO.
You cast a vote for the CGI animated Clone Wars. I won't claim to know your opinions on both shows.
Reasons, people. Reasons.
I noticed there were problems enforcing the rule that one write something to support their votes and people constantly reminding offending posters.
Here's my suggestion: if you choose to write nothing with your picks, you only get a single kill vote. No second kill, no save. If a person insists on listing two kills and a save, the second kill and the one save still don't count. If we want to be a bit crueler, the one kill can count as half a normal vote (0.5), really drive the point home that drive-by posts are worth much less to the thread.
Only individuals who write a couple of short sentences that say something about all three picks have their full votes counted. Copying and pasting from one of your previous posts should be acceptable if your voting is identical. Shouldn't always have to come up with something new to say.
Shouldn't Neon Genesis Evangelion be on the list or was that technically not shown on Toonami?
As much as I love that idea, It';s complicated. Let's try and keep this contest as simple as possibleHey, I posted this at the end of the 90s survivor thread. What do you think? Voting may also become more interesting and less stale if a rule change is made where you can't kill-vote the same show twice.
