Maybe the store being down now is a blessing in disguise, I really needed some sleep. Original Trackmania was so addicting I just had to finish Gold on all the tracks.

Honestly, it's usually a whole lot easier to get free stuff you're fighting for than it is to give these guys your actual money. I hope they've learned their lesson and don't put a freaking countdown to when they accept money/go live with the demo. Accept money in advance of the release. Problem solved!

EDIT: Or better yet, STEAM.
 
Just a tip if people are getting stuck on Trackmania website; just went through the ubisoft online store and got straight through and paid for it. Off to download now.

I'm assuming you're not US? I just went and couldn't find any evidence the game existed (even through search).

Then went to the UK site, and as soon as I hit the shop link, got redirected back to the US store.

Not US, from Australia but worked so I'm guessing may have limited success depending where in the world you are from.

Thanks for the tip, I was finally able to make a purchase. Don't know if it's because I payed with paypal, but I need to wait for something before I can download it.
 
So if I've read right, if I buy now I get access to the multiplayer modes (or part of them), the ability to create tracks and videos, and then the solo modes are unlocked on release day. Is that correct?
 
Well at least the non-US Ubisoft sites aren't incompetent. Maybe if more people around the world purchase through their local Ubi site, I can log onto the hamster driven server quicker.

game has no sli profile but uses 99% on both cards?? weird. found the major fps destroyer, shader quality on nice or very nice pretty much halves my frames, setting it to fast also allows use of proper AA and not just FXAA. get about 50-60fps with 4xaa, 16xaf most maxed except shaders at fast @ 6060 x 1080

game itself is of course absolutely fantastic, loving the new drift mechanics. dunno how many maps i've played but i think my favourite so far is a map called tiger blood beta

any way to totally disable the hud? haven't found one yet and it stretches :/

What I love is that there are 116 games available in the Ubi store. And a load of pre-orders. Fucking RinTin and its Neverland release of maybe 2012 is available, but no TM 2? Morons.

I guess Ubi is so accustomed to half-assed ports, they don't realize PC exclusives actually exist and need to be entered into the database.
 
First impression is awful. I'm assaulted by unnecessarily loud music when I enter the game, and I can't find anywhere to turn it down. Easily remedied, and not something that will matter on my overall impression of the game, but what the fuck?

Outta luck, sorry. You can go to other countries websites, but as soon as you click on the store, your IP address location will redirect you to your home country's store.
 
Oh man. Drifting took a while to get used to, but I'm finally posting some decent times. Track and car editor is great as well, wish there were a few more options in the car editor though.
 
Has Nadeo said anything about the final version having more block variety? Maybe it's just me, but I think the block selection is a little disappointing, and last I saw, block importing might be pushed back to a future environment.

Lame, if so. At least the car is awesome.
 
bought it from ubisoft store and it told me to wait to receive a mail to download it. its been 40min t.t the fuck

Just bought it from ubishop with visa electron. Download rate is only 50kb/s -.- I need better internet connection :( hopefully I get to play trackmania in 4hours...
 
Loving it like I used to love the first games. I hope the future environments will be integrated in the game so that it's all a coherent package of Trackmania 2. Looks great, but doesn't run great when looking great. Now it looks just fine with great framerate.
 
Alright, starting to get a little pissed off. First, I was in queue for 2 hours this morning till 4 am and wasn't able to order before falling asleep. This morning I was finally able to purchase it, but now a new problem. I have Trackmania United already, so I tried using that login, wouldn't work. I even tried the suggestion of changing the password, still says the account doesn't exist.

I'm not creating yet another account, does anyone have another solution that might work?

Mania planet is different than Trackmania. I was the same position last night. I had to make a new account. :\

Also expect the car handling to be different than what you expect form Trackmania United.
 
Anyone? That 800MB download I did is a complete mystery. If UBI claims are correct about 1 download for your money, I'd sure like to find that file and back it up.

Gonna have to up the graphics. Did what the above poster mentioned to get real AA and graphics aren't impressive in the least bit with the shaders down that low.
 
Is there going to be a gimped freeware version of this game (like Nations), so you can try it out before going for the whole thing, or will there just be a payed-for version this time around?

Thanks, it's really fucking stupid not being able to use the same account for both games. This is why people dislike logins for games.
 
Is there a way to change the default directory for rendering replays after installation? I have nowhere near enough room on C: for raw video.

Considering there's only one environment and we're all paying 25 bucks to be able to play on it, don't see what they could offer for free.
 
You know, I can't make it look as good as it does in the screenshots due to performance.

But what I've got right now? Is pretty fucking crazy considering it's Trackmania

I was able to use my TM Forever account. I think the account linking is glitchy though. I posted about it earlier in the thread.
 
Game likes it some VRAM. Gives the 1GB an almost full workout.

Guess I'll go back to the earlier settings, because the FXAA is ass IMO. Plus my framerate is clearly not locked at 60fps when the shaders are on very high. Maybe the game looks better in theory, but all those jaggies are all I can see with FXAA mode.

Yea, I had bookmarked your post and tried that, no dice. Extremely annoyed by this, I wonder if I email support would they merge the accounts.
 
Buying it worked like a charm for me right now, no waiting or anything (used paypal), now to wait 5min to download the game :) .
