Burn After Reading is great, as was No Country for Old Men. This also looks great (loved the repetitious noise in the trailer), and I agree with the person who said that it reminds one of Barton Fink to an extent.

after their 4 movie losing streak, this looks like a winner
Pffft, Intolerable Cruelty was amaaaazing. I've actually never seen The Ladykillers. Remains my only film of theirs that I haven't seen... didn't really feel very compelled to and just haven't ever remedied it.

I was so-so on Burn After Reading. It has its moments.

I think a lot of people don't give burn after reading a good chance. I honestly didn't like it too much after one viewing (aside from the great ending). But after seeing it again, and afterwards thinking back to the ridiculousness of everything how can you NOT laugh?

It's the exact same kind of humor, in fact the thematic and storrytelling parallels in the 2 films are staggering.

The only real difference is that in TBL the characters are idiots in an endearing way, rather than an infuriating one.

There is nobody in the movie that is as funny as "the dude", Walter Sobchek (sp?), or Donny. I disagree with you there. The Big Lebowski is one of the best comedies ever made, Burn After Reading is just not that funny... I think it's one of those love it or hate it movies, and I was more on the side of hating it. Hate is a strong word, but I have no desire to ever watch it again. Brad Pitt was hilarious, and what happens to him was completely unexpected.

Whoever mentioned The Ladykillers, I thought it was funnier than Burn After Reading.

I would put TBL > BAR too, but to say you "hate" it when it's a Coen brothers film through and through is really hard to fathom.

Sorry, I meant to say that hate was a strong word, but that to say it in another way, I had no desire to see it again. I didn't hate it, I just didn't like it and thought it was the weakest of their efforts that I've seen.

Burn After Reading was certified as solid gold after Clooney's contraption was revealed.

Shit had me on the floor laughing.

I really liked that trailer. The overlapping sounds was quite awesome. It's a Coen Bros movie so i'll be seeing it day one regardless.

I also thought Burn After Reading was great. Classic Coen brothers absurdist comedy.

It's so bizarre not recognizing a single person in a movie trailer.

But, I recognize the name of the directors and therefore, will watch.

You get a brief glimpse of Richard Kind, surely you recognize him.

Considering their body of work, any Coen brothers film is a must-see for me, regardless of what it is. Damn you inscrutable preview!

The Big Lebowski was just sublime. One of those moments in movie history when writing, cast, acting and directing come together so perfectly. BAR was good but no where near the level of The Big Lebowski.

A Serious Man looks like it could be good. Then again, just the fact that it's Coen Brothers movie means it could be good. Can't really tell anything about the quality of the movie from the trailer....as usual.
