Even the race scene was painfully unfunny. I bet people who are excited for this awful-looking movie also paid to see Bucky Larson.
I'm astounded at the amount of people guffawing over the race scene. I guess in contrast to the rest of that shit package it was mildly amusing, but holy fuck was that a terrible trailer.
What a shame that Cohen looks to have gone the Adam Sandler route, when his Ali G era stuff was so goddamn good. Borat was very good. Bruno less so, but still funny as shit. And now this Dictator shit just makes it look like he is tapped out and peaked with Ali G. Ali G was so good that I'll always take a look at what Cohen is doing, but I will be skipping this without question. Ugh.
That was cringeworthy.
Also;
Sir Ben Kingsley,
WHY?
Wait, so it's a parody of real comedies? You mean it's not funny on purpose?!Why are people even offended by this? It's obviously a comedy parody. This looks awesomely hilarious!!
THIS. The race scene had me laughing pretty hard. The trailer was just okay, until the race which was hilarious. I'm in.
My conclusion is you are either way too sensitive or somewhat unintelligent. When a person who is Jewish (and Zionist) puts on a costume and acts out Arab stereotypes, it has the sensibility of a white person donning blackface to eat a watermelon.
By that token, this movie should be considered racist.
It will, not, however, be considered racist.
The conclusion is yours.
What were the Arab stereotypes? I saw dictator stereotypes, not Arab stereotypes. When a person who is Jewish (and Zionist) puts on a costume and acts out Arab stereotypes, it has the sensibility of a white person donning blackface to eat a watermelon.
By that token, this movie should be considered racist.

This looks dangerously close to a Sandler movie.
He needs to stop doing comedies or at least drastically change the roles he takes. Nothing that would fall under Ferrell or Sandler comedies. His movies tend to be much smarter than those two, but this looks like he might be slipping. I laughed at the race scene though.
Bruno was awful. So forced.
Loved the character on the Ali G show for the record
Cohen should stick to unscripted stuff with unsuspecting people. That's what he does best.
everyone knows who he is
As long as he creates a new character and manages to have a low profile there will always be people he can trick. Obviously he couldn't go back to Ali G, Borat or Bruno.
What I'm saying is that the classic structure of comedy movies doesn't suit him so far. Maybe he can get there eventually, but The Dictator doesn't look like much of an improvement over Ali G In Da House.
Ali G in da house is brilliant though
Brilliant, really? My friend who introduced me to SBC and is an absolute fan of him thought it sucked when we watched it (I didn't even want to watch more than a third of it, and we're both fan of Da Ali G show), Imdb gives it a 6.0/10 and Rotten Tomatoes gives it 56% rating. Not saying you can't enjoy it at all, but there is nothing so good that it deserves to be called "brilliant".
Looks like another terrible movie for grade school kids to run around imitating lines from.
The race was funny, everything else looked like an Adam Sandler movie.
