The Japanese outlet Dengeki recently released the second part of an interview with Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo, discussing the Trails franchise during its 20th anniversary.

At the start of the interview, Kondo stated that the Trails game he is most attached to is Trails in the Sky FC. While he was present for Ys remakes and previous Legend of Heroes entries, Sky FC was the first time he truly had the experience of crafting a title from scratch, hence his fondness. This same mentality applies to the characters he’s most attached to: Estelle and Joshua.
This topic then continues, with Kondo also having a strong attachment to Loewe, also known as Leonhardt, one of the central antagonists throughout the first two entries of the Sky saga. He’s a fan-favorite character whose iconic boss fight in Sky SC was patched soon after its initial release in 2006 to become more challenging following fan requests.

Patching titles was quite uncommon back in those days, so this instance stood out, especially since it actually went through. Of course, Kondo also has a fondness for “Silver Will.”

The legend of heroes games are in fact older than 20 years old. Trails started in 2004 which is true but the first game Dragon Slayer : The legend of heroes was on the tg16 (and pc), released in 1989 on Tg16-CD and had an English version. The 2nd game is Japanese only. 3 - 5 were Japanese only but also had remakes on psp, which were my first experience with the series. Would of loved having the first game back in the day but we were too poor to get a console CD addon in 1990 as I only had the base Tg16.

The first trails trilogy I also played on psp and it's awesome. I have trails fof cold steel (loh 9?) but it's school type setting turned me off and it never hooked me.
