Well, my friends both have powerbooks and they want to transfer their music from one to the other. Problem is, it won't let them. I think it's cuz some of the mp3s have the same name like the Intros are all called intro so it doesn't transfer. I dunno if that's why, but it's a thought. It's like 4 gigs of music. When he tries to transfer, it just doesn't do anything. You see it working for a while and then it just stops. Anyone know a good way to transfer a bunch of music from one comp to the other?

How are you guys currently trying to transfer the music? The name conflicts shouldn't pose an issue unless they're trying to copy it into an existing directory that has the same subdirectory/file names and even then it should prompt whether you wish to overwrite the existing files or cancel. The best thing to do of course is to simply transfer to another directory (if there's ample space provided) and then simply import the files through iTunes, which will copy and organize the files appropriately if you have that option set, and then just delete the original folder with the music. And of course, the best way to do that would be via a Firewire400/800 or USB2 cable. Over a network, it would take a good couple of hours depending.

Yeah, iTunes only lets you stream other people's music. However, there are programs that will let you take music from somebody else's iTunes library.
My personal favorite is the ever so creatively named http://ot.f00f.com/ but http://getittogether.sourceforge.net/ also works.
