Transformers Devastation (Platinum Games) boss videos on Facebook

The SDCC promo artwork they had for the game is superb too. Should probably be used in some way for the OT, whoever is doing the OT!

The childhood dream

Gah, footage looks so cool...dem Motormaster lightning strikes!

In just over a week we're going to get a character action game by Platinum with mostly humanoid bosses. That alone is enough to get me hyped.

I just watched the videos and... that does not sound like Soundwave at all. Did they not have the right processor or Frank Welker? His voice should be much deeper. A bit like a robotic version of Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget.

Couldn't really hear Blitzwing well, but his voice should be a bit rougher and more sadistic. At least tell me Greg Berger is in to reprise Grimlock.

Starscream's is excellent though. Chris Latta would be proud.

Soundwave definitely sounds the most incomplete. Hopefully it's just a processing issue. It's hard to make out what he's saying. Gregg Berger is totally back as Grimlock, he's even been doing press rounds and interviews for the game recently. :D

Looking good.

I hope there is a boss rush mode

There's 50 challenge missions apparently. It would be cool if each boss/miniboss had their own mission, to use as a sort of makeshift rematch option. But yeah, a boss gauntlet would also be neat. I guess that could possibly be one of the challenge missions?

Game looks better every time I see it. I am a bit disappointed that they seem to have just directly lifted Bayonetta's dodge and Witch Time mechanics for this game. Would have hoped they'd come up with something more fresh, but either way I'm sure it's gonna control and play like a dream.

I'm liking how every character has distinct animations for their combo strings and unique attacks. Grimlock looks like a blast to play especially.

Meh, I'm just hoping they've lifted dodge offset alongside them!

I don't know - dodge offset is cool but like 70% of what makes it so cool in Bayonetta are all the other elements of that game's system that support it. Without those in place, it's just kind of a cool novelty, like in Metal Gear Rising and Wonderful 101.

Are there any preorder bonuses for this?

I wanna delay buying this if possible since I'm busy as fuck the next few weeks, and can't resist the temptation of a shrink-wrapped PG game ;_;

Couldn't resist any longer, bought it on Steam today. Can't wait!

It seems Game Informer put up a video earlier this month showing off a battle with all the Constructicons too, I didn't see it before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63fXkoqy1MM

Pretty cool stuff, and the Devastator footage they have there is pretty different from the demo footage from E3 and SDCC too. You can see Devastator firing a giant drill from his arm, and Grimlock catching it to throw it back. Mmmmm. :D

Wish that was Pre Order Poster

Don't know who will post the OT, but please Let it be Transformers Devastation |OT| Platinum is the right of all sentient beings

They couldn't even give us like some little transformer toy or something..?

I'm kinda surprised there isn't a collector's edition that has that. With Hasbro's help it would be pretty easy for them to do. They won't even need a new mold!

Devastation does seem to have Bayo-style combo strings with Wicked Weave equivalents, at least (the vehicle mode ramming moves), so Dodge Offsetting should be pretty useful.

I'm actually really excited to see how Devastation plays. The third-person shooting controls and easy vehicle-mode Transformations make it look like almost like Bayonetta crossed with Vanquish, which is a sentence I can barely type without drooling all over my keyboard.

This. Now if P* ever does tmnt umm my gawd...

Imagine a Platinum re-imagining of Turtles in Time

Why think so small?

I see a P*-made TMNT game as being something that could finally do the property some justice, after several years' worth of shovelware.

Ideally, I'd prefer something more to the tune of the Mirage or IDW comic series, but hell, I'd take something based off the 80s or Nick series if it meant a decent quality release with a fun combat engine.

Looking good. After their Korra game was mixed, I was on the fence, but this seems worth keeping an eye on.

It's no war for cybertron 3, but it'll do Until we finally get that.

I still believe!

He's always been a tank and fighter jet :P

Actually it just hit me how interesting a boss fight against Sixshot would be

Gunstar heroes already did it.

I'd rather have a Treasure Transformers game than this really.

Treasure > Platinum
