I see people here are getting into the IDW comics hype but I don't see Tom Scioli's Transformers vs GI Joe mentionned. And it's a shame because it's pretty awesome if you have a taste for a Kirby-like comic.

You can get its first issue is free if you want to sample it.

I know not everyone will dig its style, but for what my opinion is worth it's a insane comic book. In the right way.

It's often used to shit on things from the past but it's even more true in 2015 than it was all those years ago.

The Transformers movie was okay though overall, nothing really amazing nor particularly bad, it had some nice genuine feel good moments and few decent fight scenes but completely not good at all? M8.

Yeah, that's one of the worst arguments against something. It made reading impressions on the Lego Movie and Wreck-it Ralph rather frustrating. Legit good films but because they're about products everyone has to get all snarky about them

i enjoyed that movie as a kid, but really, the entire point of it was to take all of the existing toys (which Mattel had to pay royalties to Takara on, i believe) to brand new ones that were developed in house.

True, it's introducing a new toy line and getting rid of the discontinued ones but for me, as a five year old, I enjoyed the cartoons way more than the toys, strange perhaps as the toys were the big seller and I found the movie was even more enjoyable,

probably weird to some but even then at that age, I loved how dark it was compared to the tv show.

i'm glad they had the balls to kill off characters. ironhide was always a smug asshole. and prowl oh boy goody two shoes prowl. and brawl that stubborn fool. they should have killed off huffer too. probably did off screen. what a giant dickhead. worst autobot by a country mile.

My 21 year old dad at the time liked Transformers though (he collected the UK Marvel comics) so it was probably more for him than me buuut I did get my very first Transformer that day, Cyclonus. You can also find a lot of dead transformers in Starscreams Ghost.

Naturally the ones that died in the movie are there, but also some which have had maybe 1 episode of screentime during the entire first 2 seasons.

to be fair, the writing of Glavatron took a nosedive in the series as well. it's like they had no idea what to do with him and how to make him "different" then megatron, so they settled on "craaaaaazy"

Those are the only ones that stuck with me. The rest of season 3 was too generic.
Plus, most of the TF magic wore off after the movie.

Season 3 featured lots of new TF which boasted alien vehicle modes. Such a let down. Then came the Headmasters (which you can't say now without thinking about professional blowjobbers).

Agreed, much prefer Nimoy, I'm sure Welker, given his talents, could of done Nimoy but instead went for this whiny personna. I know the character was mentally unhinged but I didn't like his take on it, considering his Megatron was awesome

I remember that episode and the awful inconsistency in the animation throughout the series. Five Faces of Darkness especially is all over the place

Great list. I'd probably only add Dinobot Island & Grimlock's new brain. The Rebirth had some good elements but suffered from being cut down to three eps.
