Andy Schmidt, who has written the IDW comic series and also worked on High Moon’s Transformers games, is creating the story for Devastation.

In short, Transformers: Devastation takes place at a time when the Earth is forcefully being changed into the new Cybertron. The Autobots have no clue why, but the Decepticons do, and they’ve infiltrated an ancient ship hidden deep in the planet. And thus the adventure begins.

In any case, this Transformers game does look really slick. Excited to see more levels/combat arenas.

It looks a hell of a lot better than in the reveal, honestly. I still think it will be more in the Legend of Korra end than in the Bayonetta end of my personal rating of Platinum titles, but I'll definitely pick it up on PC at some point!

A super-slick gen 1 Transformers title with Platinum Games combat and original voice actors? I think my 10 year-old self just topped Ahnold's scream from "Predator." This looks incredible. The most balls-out crazy fun-looking game this side of Just Cause 3, and using a great rendition of one of my most cherished IPs to boot.

For everyone who hasn't watched the old cartoon lately, I don't think they've aged all that well. The action in particular is generally slow. I think this does for aesthetics what most remakes try to do - get it to look as cool now as your mind remembers it being.

Too bad it's not coming to Wii U, but I'll probably get it on PC.

I'd say majority of TF redesigns are far better than Bayformers
Heck the TF Prime cartoon's designs is if you take the Bayformer designs and smooth out all the edges.

Yeah, they had static shots of the Autobots all lined up on one side, Decepticons on the other, with lasers blinking on the screen and nobody hitting anything. I'm not sure that would make a great game TBH.

These are my concerns. The combat looks great but I'll need a bit more out of it. Hopefully there is a degree of longevity to the content.
