I've looked everywhere, called everywhere in Vancouver and no one has these. Has anyone purchased these in Canada? Which city and store?

Amazon.ca has October 19th and 18th respectively as release dates.

I got Trauma Center at eb. They only got 2 copies in (enough for preorders, mine and the clerk's). They said they would have more for the shelf next week. Phoenix wright has a date of oct 18 in canada.

My EB got 3 copies of Trauma Centre (I'm in Wpg). They had 2 in pre-order I got the last one. I don't think Phoenix Wright is out anywhere yet.

Trauma Center basically has to be imported; the box has no french on it, so it seems it all had to be brought in from the states.

Get them from Amazon.ca. They're selling both games fairly cheap, although they don't ship out until the end of the month.

Thanks all... I was just wondering if any had the same experiences. I guess are just some of those title that actually ship a bit later to Canada... Weird.

I ordered from Amazon.ca Save a pile on both compared to the store retail $49.99 each...

I found them both easily in Toronto on the release date, but I didn't even bother checking EB. Local independant stores that don't have to go through all of EB's importing bs are by far the best options for titles such as these.

Amazon's DS game prices are insane...more or less exchange rate free in most cases.

See: All First-Party Nintendo release since and including Nintendogs.

I did the same thing but I was only able to find Trauma Center. I had to buy Phoenix Wright online to get it.

I hate the extra French manuals we have to deal with.

I once ended up with a "Trudeaumaniac!" tag for doing a satirical rant against someone for saying something similar. It was great.

I really don't care about the French manuals, personally...doesn't bother me in the least.

The french manauls don't bother me, the french titles/comments on box arts do. This also applies for DVDs. It has nothing to do with the French language but some laws in Quebec destroying the aesthetics of my box arts. Even the real French people in France would agree with that.

Or worse, the Canadian version of Street Fighter : Anniversary Collection for Xbox came with the french manual ONLY all across Canada!

Yeah the whole french manual shit is a fucking joke. Quebec is the only province with a law saying EVERYTHING has to be dual language for box+instructions yet typically what doesn't come out in quebec gets delayed for the rest of us normal english speaking canadians. Or in some cases comes to canada with only a french manual. Worse still from what french speakers tell me the french translations are often really awful so why bother ?

As for these 2 games in particular- Both should be at EB this coming week. Trauma center was listed has shipping in EB's computer system and well if gyakutan saiben DS is scheduled for the 18th it should also be out by the end of the week.

The fact of the matter is, the additional manual makes for longer game waits up here in many cases.

I've noticed Canada no longer has near simultaneous launches with the US, which used to be the case. Even first party stuff from Sony and Nintendo come up two to three days later.

So Mario Kart DS's official launch here is Nov 17 while the Americans get it on the 14th.

I want out of this place, I had to wait a whole week extra for MGS3 because of the french manual. Who cares if the manual's in french if every game is in english?

It did only come out with the French cover on its release date. Capcom had to send back the English/bilingual ones at a later date, of course it got rectified later on.

Doesn't New Brunswick have that law, too?

Is that really the reason? I was assuming it had something to do with clearing customs on shipping. Just basing that on the fact that an "overnight" courier delivery from the US to Canada actually takes two nights to get here.

All of Amazon's ship dates are now an entire week after their US releases, but they're also far cheaper. Perhaps they're delaying the release and thus keeping costs low and thus offering better prices?

All of the Fall releases I want are Christmas lists, so I don't really care.

I'm in Vancouver and I got Trauma Center last Thursday from videogamesplus.ca. $2.99 shipping to anywhere in Canada and it's $39.99. Highly recommend it. If you're willing to wait, then I would go with amazon deals for a few bucks of savings, but their items are a lot slower to arrive it seems.

I don't feel like creating a new thread so I'll ask here.

Trauma Center or Phoenix Wright? or both? I can't decide.

If you can, I would say pick both up. Both are excellent games that should definitely be played. It just depends on which one you want to play more. Trauma Center has some great touchscreen use and it's fun while Phoenix Wright has excellent writing and it's addictive to boot.

Which game is more fun and has more value?

You see, I'd also like to pick up Lost in Blue, so that's 3 games and I don't think I want to buy all 3. So I'm trying to decide between the 3. :)

I'm very interested in Lost in Blue as well. Reading the impressions here on GAF really makes me want to pick it up.

As far as fun and value goes, I would say Phoenix Wright over Trauma Center. TC gets somewhat frustrating later on in the game, but it's nothing major.

I've played through Phoenix Wright twice now and the game really is fun. The writing is great, and the game has some good humor. The trial sequences are a lot fun, and it's addicting to try and figure out the contradictions in the testimonies. I would saw you go with Phoenix Wright most definitely but also check out Trauma Center.

I am in the same boat as you, living in WPG as well. EB told me the 18th. Same with DDS2, it came a week later than in the U.S.

Not that it's a huge deal, as I am busy anyway, but I'd still like to be able to get games on their release dates... not a week after.

At least it is not as bad as Vagrant Story which did not come here until a month or 2 later than in the U.S.

(I just drove to the U.S. and bought it then, screw waiting that long. Not that that was my ONLY reason, however.)

I want to be able to scream "Objection!!!" into my DS too...

Ah well, soon enough.

The problem with them is that they don't understand you unless you speak to them in english. You make me laugh if you think that real frenchies are in France. :lol

The problem is not with Quebec or anything else, it's the publishers who think that people in America (North and South) only speak english. Any game (note the emphasis here) in Europe are at least in 3 languages: English, French and Spanish. More than that, those games are often translated in time for NA launch but everything else except english gets cut for NA versions. It's stupid.
