Trials Evolution |OT| ROCK'N'ROLL TRIALS STYLE BABY

Yeah, later on there'll be tracks that are hard to even get through (at least it was that way in Trails HD), but it's still fun to go back to the super easy tracks to get another second out of it.
It's an an ode to highscore/leaderboard gaming!

Is the first one just as good and content packed? I'll probably get it at some point as well.

Yes, get it. It's huge on content and so far I liked its level design even more than Evos (haven't seen all in Evo though). One of the best games the 360 library has to offer, easily.

works for Gamestop (lol)
Regarding server problems:

"We apologize for the leaderboard issues in the past hours, servers were getting overloaded but MS has put up new hardware #trialsevo #xbla"

Damn, serious stuff

So does doing flips actually help?

It makes you feel like a badass when you pull off a couple and still beat your previous best time. That's basically it.

I guess sometimes you'll take a bad bounce, and it's easier to keep momentum going by flipping and landing on your wheels than trying to correct it by staying upright.

This is my first Trials game (aside from some time spent with earlier demos). It's awesome. I'm actually getting a Super Meat Boy vibe from the whole thing, with the endless retries to improve level times and the focus on mastering the precise physics.

I'm quite impressed with the diversity of the level design so far. I like the variety of scenery and the unique gimmicks.

OMG... bought this yesterday, downloaded it as soon as I came home from work.

suffice to say I've been playing for ~4hrs with no break whatsoever. This game is pure perfection. Simply amazing. Huge levels, excellent mechanics (I feel that handling and physics are even better than in HD).

Whow...just whow. Almost finished the Medium tier. All gold. Two silvers only so far (gonna get Gold in them later).

...and I still haven't tried multiplayer, or the editor, or the garage... SO MUCH FUCKING CONTENT! \o/

Wat. Only your head crossed the finishing line...
crying, because almost at bottom of your list

I know. Crazy lucky I guess. Wasn't expecting that. It was my first time completing the level, so I had no idea
multiple finish lines are at the end.

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
Gigatrack was fun once, but getting good at that track seems like it would be a chore. Took me ten minutes my first try.
Over 20mins for me and 30+ bails. Thankfully the Leaderboard uploading is broke sdo none of my mates will ever know! =D

Seems much easier than the first game. I got my A licence without breaking a sweat.

I thought the same, but it must be because I've been plugging away at Trials HD for the last few years, and honing my skills there. If I was coming to Evo cold, I'm sure I would be absolutely rotten at it.

Nah, I think it's a hell of a lot easier too and I haven't played Trials HD for two years, never beat the Extreme tracks and never bought DLC. I'll probably be going back and mopping up now that I'm into Evo though, kinda looking forward to it!

Sorry if this has been asked, how do you turn off the controls text at the bottom of the screen? I can't find the option.

Its better in some ways. Its much more immidiate in terms of navigating the menus, everything loads as quick as you can press the button, evo has load screens. :(

Also, the physics are aruably better too, evo feels a little stiff. Both awesome, evo is prettier and more varied, HD is a little tighter and better optimised but suffers a lack of enviromental variety.

Really, really enjoying this so far. Rollercoaster and Mind Bender have probably been my favourite tracks so far.

Could do with a few more people on my leaderboards though, Gamertag is RossCowan if anyone wants to add me.

All achievements done except for finding the squirrels. Now where are you you little bastards! Great achievements in this game. I love the level specific challenges.

*note: please put spoiler tags around any found squirrels. There are many of us who want to find them, or at least attempt to, on our own.

NeoGAF Trials friends list leaderboard 24 hours in:
(sorry for the shitty picture. It's off my phone.)

The goal is in two weeks to take shots of all race and skill games leaderboards. They will be off the first page only, so get a favorite track and get #1 out of all the GAFers! Obviously we will keep these modestly updated as long as there is an interest.

Edit: The list has only 90 players on it. If you are one of the ten that does not have the game, you will be removed off the friends list this weekend if you still have a score of zero. This will make room for those who were a little late to send requests.

I got into the top 500 in the world on the first track yesterday evening, I assume I must've plummeted a fair bit since then.

I hate your scores. Tried to beat them, but we got the same rivalry as in Trials HD. Sometimes you end up high, and sometimes I am ripping your scores apart.

What an amazing game.

Don't you guys feel the brake isn't as strong as in HD? I've been able to save myself from pretty ridiculous wheelies in the first game, not so much now.

man I suck (but its fun). Even on the second set of levels, there are a couple I'm having trouble getting gold on. 'Ridinghood' I feel like I can probably speed up on, but there is one with a 46 second gold target that I just can't seem to do faster than 48 seconds (might be sunset stripped). Do you need to reduce the height on jumps to reduce airtime? Or just wait for a faster bike than the 250cc you get?

Hi guys,

First, thanks for this awesome thread and we're so glad you're having fun with the game!

Couple things - the XBLA servers were *overwhelmed* at times during the last 12 hours but Microsoft has quickly deployed more hardware to address the issues and things are getting back on track.

Second, there are some known issues with the game, largest right now being Multiplayer Leaderboards not recording scores properly and sometimes resetting your progress. It is a known issue and we're working on it!

I can't provide help for other issues here on Neogaf, but please feel free to visit this KNOWN ISSUES thread on our Forums, for workarounds, known issues list, and reporting.

http://www.redlynxgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=8047

It's also a good place to find deep discussion of track building, tutorial videos, and more :)

Thanks for riding and being one of the 100,000+ Day One players!

Jenkki, thanks for the informative post. Many wouldn't bother.

I don't understand how demand couldn't have been estimated to be as high as it is/was, but I'm glad something is being done about it, it's frustrating.

The game is amazing all the same though.

I think I had a really hard time on this one too but yes, you need to reduce your height on some of them. Play around with pulling the stick back then forward to get further off a steep jump without getting a ton of air. Also you can mix in flips when you get half way off a ramp to flip yourself forward a bit faster.

This is clearly going to be the best-selling XBLA game of 2012, if not over the service's timespan.

As close to an AAA full retail release as Microsoft's DD is ever gonna get, and the numbers are accordingly.

Just bought it, can't wait to play it later tonight.
