Wtf are you talking about? Call Tokico and ask them yourself. I setup a group deal with them many months ago and when I called them up to get a few facts on the HP Blues, he informed me that the current Blues are a new design with a 10% stiffer rating compared to OEM which is why Tokico warrantees them now for a drop of 1.5.

I did and to quote "the HPs are OEM replacements".

Unless you took apart the suspension of a Maxima personally, don't argue with me about it.

I don't need to touch your Maxipad to know that Tokico HPs are OEM replacement. And I very much doubt you have ever removed a single bolt from your own car.

Now, to further prove you're an absolute asshat: http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?tirebrand=Falken&tiremodel=Ziex+ZE-512

Look under 225/50/17 and consider yourself owned.

First they were ZX-512 and now they're ZE-512s? And it doesn't change the fact that they're "ALL-SEASONS".

I cannot stand it when people are willing to drop 2000 dollars into their cars only to make it "look" cool. Am I the only person here who thinks that the engine upgrades should come before you do everything else? Your car isn't a hot rod if you put a damn rear spoiler on it and underbody neons. This shit isn't worth nearly as much as droppin in a sweet ass engine, a new cat-back, a supercharger, etc. Am I wrong here?

Who cares if your car LOOKS like it can run 12 seconds... what matters is if it DOES run 12 second quarter miles.
My brothers car can run 8s for the quarter mile, and is street legal. RX4 with a 20b rotor.

Will find pics if anyone cares.

I don't believe you made any calls. Tokico OEM replacements are black and are softer, HPs are blue and stiffer. I mean shit, even on their own website, Tokico calls the HP Blues high performance non-adjustable struts. Why are you even arguing with me about this? I've personally tested out my friend's Maxima on Illuminas with mine; we dialed around the Illuminas and concluded that 3F-3R is pretty much what the Blues are. And if Blues were OEM spec (which they are not) they would've blown on me ages ago, but they haven't and that's why Tokico warrantees them for a drop of 1.5 or less.

LOLLERZ! Bahahaha, that's frigin rich. I've taken apart my entire dashboard, tighetened up a loose axle nut, installed the suspension, installed various catback systems (on other people's Maximas), and have helped out my shop do some performance instals on other cars. Just stop, you're only making yourself look like a fool.

:lol :lol ZIEX = a.ka. ZX = a.k.a ZE. Same model lineup. Get over it, you lost. Let it go, pal.

obviously you dont know anything about turbos.

Any kind of performance sticker unless maybe if you have that part and run low 13s
Modding your car unless you run low 13s
obviously you dont know that cars can go in more directions than just a straight line.

typical meathead responses like these make me giggle. :lol

Tokico Blacks. :lol

So what do you want Tokico to say? " Our HP line are OEM stock low performance shocks"?

Why are you even arguing with me about this?

Why not?

Take off those junk Taiwanese made Maxspeed progressive springs and throw in some 5kg/mm springs. HPs are high performance right, they should be able to handle a modest spring rate?

I've blown 2 sets of $2000 coilovers. What does that prove?

Does it change the fact that it's an H-rated all-season tire?

I still think that if you didn't like the way the car looked when you spent $30,000 on it $2000 isn't going to make that much difference.

Considering I worked with Tokico and have cleared up the issue of their old production HPs...at this point, you just refuse to admit you're flat out wrong. Let it go.

Umm, just like the adjustable Illuminas, the Blues will only handle a drop of 1.5. Now, do me a favor and please tell me where *I* called them high performance? I'll save you the trouble...I neved did. I only refered to my tires as high performance. Owned again.

I've blown 2 sets of $2000 coilovers. What does that prove?

That you don't know what the fuck you're doing, as proven by your quote below:?

You took apart your entire dashboard to install some fake HID bulbs? :lol :lol

And there you have it, folks. HIDs, or lightbulbs in general, are apparently installed via dashboard of a car! Yes, first you remove your steering wheel, then the gauges, then the climate control, headunit and then speakers. Then you dig through the engine bay, move the engine out of the way and get to the headlights and change the bulbs.

Does it change the fact that it's an H-rated all-season tire?

Holy shit. You're fucking dense. I already proved that they're not H-rated; they are V-rated!

What's funny is that statistically: Maxspeeds are most fail-safe springs. Tein S-Techs and Eibachs have the highest reported failure rate, while H&R and Maxspeed have few to none. This is based on what has been reported by members on Maxima.org and most of the members from my own NYC Nissan group (of 450+ people, I might add). So you can take your "Taiwaneese" comment and shove it. Most aftermarket products are manufactured in one 3rd world/crappy country or another. =)

If they are rims then yes it will make that much of a difference. It has nothing to do with not liking the way your car looks but making it look better. What is the deal with people be so against upgrading.

Because they're broke and don't have money? You know the GAF logic: "if you don't have it, pretend like you don't need it and act like a real asshole about it, too".

Meh, I guess. I don't see the difference from a hobby point of view of modding, having every video game system in existence, or having all the nijorfrog anime in original form. Now then I have a theory on which one of those, if done right, will get you more ass but, that's just me.

:lol I enjoy modding as a hobby. It's cool when you're so completely used to your car behaving one way, and then you do something to it and you feel something completely different from it. I like my car way too much. I absolutely love the interior and I'm still in love with how it looks today -- it's aged really well, aesthetically (IMO, of course). I mod the car just to keep it up to date. My mods are very subtle too, but very effective. I don't like body kits, because they're very tacky. I don't like extremely loud exhausts with too much drone for obvious reasons. I like the increase of speed, since I'm a bit of speed freak, and I think it's nice when I can walk on a Bimmer or some other high-end vehicle and laugh about it -- something I couldn't really do when I was bone stock. :p

We are on the same page. I like a clean mod moreso than extreme mods but I understand the philosophy and drive of those people who do. My only request is when you do something do it right and clean. Don't buy a body kit and not the paint. Don't attach your primred out kit without painting it and getting it mounted properly. Don't jackleg modify your springs in order to get that "slammed" look. Realize what is performance for you and what is junk.

Just the simple things.

That isn't fair. I prefer the look of a machine off the assembly line built by engineers and designers who knew what they were doing.

I once saw a BMW Z3 driving around Vancouver that was modded in the most unpleasant way such that the original body and styling was replaced by looks that were a mix of the Batmobile and a Camero similar to #77 below.

http://www.jimmy540i.com/bmwnightmare8.htm

^ that site is why modding makes me cringe.

I've also seen regular vehicles driving around with spoilers BOLTED on the truck in the most pathetic way possible. One of them was made out of wood for fuck sakes. Nothing will get you more ass than a wooden spoiler bolted to the back of your car.

I mean you can take the worst examples of anything and say that's why you are against it. You don't think that the engineers who desinged your car aren't under the hoods of their cars making modifications here and there?

I mean for example what about TRD they areToyota so if someone replaces all the compnents of a car "assembly line built by engineers and designers who knew what they were doing" are they doing something wrong?

Assembly line cars are basically what engineers can get away with for the cost they have to meet. Cars are usually designed to be and do more with the proper knowledge and tweaks you can make that happen. I don't see a problem with that. If it wasn't for people doing that we'd all be driving Ares K cars.

Tommie and I are talking about people who absolutely resent any modification. People who make stupid comments like 'aftermarket exhausts should be illegal on an I4 or V6" and that speed modding should be limited to V8/W8 cylinder engines. And that link you posted is exactly what's wrong with the scene today and that's the kind of stuff I *don't* do to my car. Take a look at the pic I posted. I have a number of people in my club who have some really...ermm...poor looking Maximas. While others have some really tastefully modded ones.

Exactly none of the cars you sent would even rank to me they look retarded. However

in no way meet your standard of what is modded yet they both are.

I don't care who you talked with. The problem here is that you DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. You're not in any position to even know what's going on. You got like what? 30min of seat time and you're an expert at dialing in suspension by the seat of your pants? Give me a break, I've been modding cars since I was 14. I don't even think anything you said comes from your own mouth, you're just regurgitating something someone else said on soo and soo website.

http://www.ga-forum.com/showpost.php?p=898252&postcount=52

Funny considering that I don't know what the fuck I'm doing... but I knew a MHI 18G can't push enough air for that much power at any PSI.

Holy shit. You're fucking dense. I already proved that they're not H-rated; they are V-rated!

There was a listing for both H and V rating of the same size

H = 130MpH
V = 149MpH

We don't know which ones you got, but I can only guess you went with the H-rating. You went cheap with everything else.

Does that change the FACT they are ALL-SEASON tires?

Funny how Eibachs and Tein are still highly rated everywhere. You'd think such catastrophic failure rates would spread like wildfire across the internet automotive community.

Funny how it's all localized within one community.

Funny how you hate ricers but you're one yourself.

And since when the hell were Maxspeed manufactured by H&R?

Funny how on their website they show a S15 drifting, but they don't even make springs for that car.
