To play Devil's advocate to the original guy who tweeted it; the news segment is literally showing off the Getty image, digitally. It's not an in-camera shot.

His source for the ballooned image was likely a fellow twitter user, not the ABC feed. I buy that he fell for it like many others did.

Why did you believe it though? There was no real evidence. You just wanted to so you did. It doesn't erase anything he's done but there are people out there putting out fake stories to make the Trump backlash look stupid. With that in mind it's good to apply some skepticism.

As I noted, narratives count for little, if these people cannot think critically. If they're desperate enough they'll take the flimsiest excuse and magnify as to provide credibility for their nonsense.

The majority of people do not have the time to invest in researching the truth and trust the news to do so. Without this, we're fucked.

Not even close. Laughing at someon's insecurities through a harmless (supposed) photoshop and crowds of people chanting lock her up and kill that bitch are not even the same fucking ballpark. Lets not forget pizzagate where the reaction to fake news ended in gun shots.
