Liberal media making trump and, frankly, the USA look bad. Look to Fox News on how to make America great again, and not fad sensations like 60 minutes that employs people that probably voted Obama, or worse. Or ramble ramble ramble ramble

Intelligent people everywhere are dumbfounded that this ticket is actually real. I know GAF is seen as a liberal haven but come ON. Eventually it has to be less about liberals vs conservatives and just a desire to see some smart people in office.

None of Trump's positions on his signature issues (immigration, trade, etc.) has ever been particularly coherent. He's been giving the same rambling nonanswers when questioned on them for months and months.

His entire campaign is literally all style and no substance, and the style in question consists mostly of gold leaf paint and testosterone.

I'm at a loss. The entire interview, literally every second of it, is un-fucking-believable. I just, I can't. HOW does the republican party survive this? What in the world happens if this guy actually makes 269? I think on how many people voted for this man and I just go numb. I can't.

There are many clueless people out there.

Well....yes? I guess? I mean, given the option between intelligent and unintelligent, I'd rather have an intelligent person in control of the country. I think that intelligence is less important than compassion, dignity and empathy, but still pretty important.

Trump is basically none of these things. I mean, I'm sure he has some business savvy, but I'm not convinced that being able to run a business translates into being able to run a country too well. Being able to run a business well often means, for example, laying good, hard workers off for your own profit margins. That's not something a government should do. But he'd do it. Assuming he was competent enough to get it through, he'll do serious damage to citizens he deems unworthy.

He's perhaps the most unqualified person to ever run for office. There's little chance that any of his policies would succeed, but assuming he's intelligent enough to make them so, they're reprehensible.

"Donald Trump: But Lesley, let's step further. We have an enemy, ISIS and others, who chop off heads, who drown people in steel cages and we can't do waterboarding--"

Flawless logic, it's just the sort of logic you would see a young child employee "but mom he did it first", "but his parents let him do it", absolutely priceless.

Also not sure what he is going on about ISIS hating America, if they really hated America they would very publicly be making a support campaign in favor of Hilary, this would get massive world wide coverage which would certainly influence at least some people to vote for Trump, which has to be one of the most effective attacks they could possible ever accomplish.
They could even claim it as a successful attack regardless of who won that vote, I mean if Hilary won they could say she won because they said so, if Trump wins they can say he won because they wanted him to win.

But they aren't doing this, so clearly even ISIS has standards on how much they will torture someone.

Trump is a great salesman. I mean he knows how to sell shit to clueless people. Make it sound great, don't give away any real information but just harp on how great it is. Then screw them over. Trump knows his audience well.

I got something for you. This is great. The biggest ever. You'll love it. Nobody has ever done nor will do something so great. It comes from me personally. Vote for me.

Votes Trump.

Ok here is your piece of shit I made.

Trump really missed his calling as a used car salesman. Shame he was born with a silver spoon, he coulda made a killing.

270 is the number he wants.

It was funny how he went on about an "Extreme Vetting" process for immigrants, when he didn't even vet the guy sitting next to him properly.

I love the noncommittal 'I don't think we should tell our enemies what our tactics are'. That was actually surprisingly smooth, considering how decidedly _not_ coherent the rest of it is.

Trump's answer at the end, directly asked if he wants to be President...can't even reply straight up with a 'Yes, I want to be President' without the references to all the other things he could be doing.

He's gotta get it out there that he's a bigger dick man than the Presidency before giving an answer.

He can't contain his contempt for the guy, Jesus.

He's running for President of the United States and he's acting like a guy giving a presentation to the class who's been paired with an "unpopular" kid by the teacher.

Should have ignored his campaign manager and daughter and chosen someone he likes.

Depends on which demographic we're discussing; religious conservatives have always been more concerned with electing a "holy" person to office than a smart, experienced or skilled person.

Yeeees, there's more! There's a series of "Overtime" clips they didn't have time for in the segment.

Enjoy:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/unaired-60-minutes-clips-with-trump-and-pence/

"What kind of vice president are you going to be?" Lesley Stahl asked Indiana Governor Mike Pence in his first interview with Donald Trump since Trump selected Pence as his presidential running mate. (Clip in player, above.)

Trump was the first to answer. "I would like somebody who is active," says Trump. "I would like somebody that can go out and really do it," as well as somebody well known in Washington, DC, and well liked by the Republican leadership. And on that score, Trump says he has already gotten important party approval for his choice of Pence. "[Speaker of the House] Paul Ryan called me up immediately and said, 'What a great choice,'" Trump says.

As for what Pence says he can bring to the ticket? He tells Stahl that after 12 years in Congress, his ability to "build relationships with people in Washington, DC, I think, will give me an opportunity to help advocate for the agenda of the Trump administration."

"You're both teetotalers." That's one quality that Donald Trump and Mike Pence share, but Lesley Stahl wanted to know what else the presidential running mates have in common.

"Both of our grandfathers immigrated to this country," Pence says. "[And] we were both raised by self-made men who had high standards and held together strong families."

Meeting Trump and his family was an important part of the selection process, Pence says, and as a result he was able to vouch for them to the people of Indiana. "Folks would look at me and say, 'Are they good people?' And I'd say, 'They're really good people.'"

"We are going to get rid of ISIS, big league," Donald Trump tells Lesley Stahl, and Trump's vice presidential choice, Mike Pence, says it can be done.

"We have the capacity in the United States of America to bring force to bear to destroy the enemy so they cannot threaten our allies, or the United States, or inspire attacks in this country," says Pence.

Pence tells Stahl that he came to New York City soon after 9/11 - part of a delegation of members of Congress - and will "never forget that day.... [O]ur nation has been in a struggle with people inspired by radical Islam ... ever since."

Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump's daughter, and other members of Donald Trump's family will be speaking at the upcoming Republican National Convention, "and I think that's going to be interesting," Trump tells Lesley Stahl.

"Some people say your daughter would be your best surrogate," Stahl says. Trump says Ivanka is "a very talented person" and that that some people had even suggested her as his vice presidential running mate, "but Mike [Pence] it is."

The heart/brain stuff was also really good. Can someone transcript that part?

Pence will do well in isolation, I think. Next to Trump he seems pathetic. And I wonder if they'll get better at reconciling their differences on policy.

The FUCK did I just read/watch? I'm laughing so hard at those ramblings. The guy can't even form a complete sentence until he has to say how humble he is because that's what humble people do.

Are there any Trump supporters still on GAF? If so, please defend and spin whatever that is into something that makes even a bit of sense.

Theres no way anyone voting for him from GAF can justify that vote. Like seriously, I want to see some of you try to justify that vote.

God I have to take breaks watching the video. I have to actually get up, pace around, and get something to drink. I can't sit through it all at once. And I basically need those transcripts in the OP to understand all the shit spewing and CONSTANT interrupting of the speaker. They had a shit load of NOTHING to answer any question in any sort of capacity. They didn't even spin it. They just flat out NOT answered anything.

Reminds me of Digital Homicide's "interview" with Jim Sterling. I'm holding my mouth in disgust that this is the fucking Republican Nominee. Out of all the johns, joes, and moes they pick fucking Donald Trump.

I only wish he picked Palin as his VP. That would have made the shit even more golden than it already was.

How can anyone watch this interview and walk away from it with any confidence in Trump? Honestly....how can a person watch that and believe he is fit for the role of president?

Big respect to Lesley Stahl for how she conducted this interview.
I really hope the media starts pressing him more. They've let him get away with not actually answering anything or telling outright lies way too much.

Right? It's a level of incoherent babbling and fidgeting that I'd expect from some kid in middle school who didn't prepare for a presentation that he had weeks in advance for in front of a teacher and is paired up with a kid he hates and hates him back. The teacher hashing out questions to a kid who had no idea how to answer them because he didn't bother to fucking study, trying to make himself sound knowledgeable when he's clearly fucking clueless. And some people out there think this should be our Statesman?

They just start babbling about Hillary being a criminal and a crook. That's it. Trump can kill people, insult the disabled, deport everyone who isn't white and that still wouldn't be as bad as Hillary being corrupt. Somehow. No, it doesn't make a lick of sense and at this point the clear underlying reason is deep seeded racism, sexism, and hatred.

This proves he can't switch off his bullshit hyperbole.

Props to the interviewer for her incisive and persistent questioning (for the short time time that she had). Trump as always sounds like a graduate at his first job interview (well he's a lot more confident in his answers).
