The Islamic State group claimed responsibility Tuesday for the suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester that left 22 people dead and sparked a stampede of young concertgoers, some still wearing the American pop star’s trademark kitten ears and holding pink balloons.

Teenage screams filled Manchester Arena just after the explosion Monday night, and members of the audience tumbled over guardrails and each other to escape.

An 8-year-old girl was among the dead — the youngest known victim — and the child’s mother and sister were among 59 people wounded in what British Prime Minister Theresa May called “a callous terrorist attack.” The wounded included 12 children under 16.

“We struggle to comprehend the warped and twisted mind that sees a room packed with young children not as a scene to cherish but as an opportunity for carnage,” May said as campaigning for Britain’s June 8 national election was suspended.

U.S. President Donald Trump, in Bethlehem, said the attack preyed upon children and described those responsible as “evil losers.”

“This wicked ideology must be obliterated. And I mean completely obliterated,” he added.

No but these guys are great because they were very complimentary about my election victory. Oh and they're going to spend $110bn on weapons from us, so they must be our allies.

In the future, when all the dust settles and the last few humans are scratching out an existence in the dirt, Saudi will be looked back on as the real Big Bad.

The statement itself is fine, but it's just a generic statement that any sensible person will agree to. Even Trump would have a hard time fucking that up, but not for lack of trying

Thing is trump has a point these guys will be more annoyed being called losers etc instead of monsters or some other word.

They want to be seen as a threat n scare people. Being called a loser isnt gonna do that

This is another example of Trump needing to be presidential in the face of an act of terror towards an ally, and I think the fact that the victims included children shook him.

He's taking a hard stance against them and their ideology, and he's not wrong. I think we should keep the discussion on the OP, not the "losers" thing. We all agree that it's Trump being Trump, but the prepared remark isn't exactly far from normal.
