Trump regarding Islamic State: "This wicked ideology must be obliterated."

What's wrong with that?

Personally, I think it just makes the American Government look hideously ineffectual when the President of the United States of America can't offer anything else in his reactionary speech to a terrorist attack outside of standing behind a podium and going "These guys are losers! Remember that folks! Losers!". It's so infantile, it undermines a government that should be coming across as the stronger, infinitely more civilised side. It's fighting darkness with baby noises, which terrorists will probably only delight in.

We've gone from President Obama delivering intelligent yet blistering speeches denouncing terrorism and offering support to the afflicted victims to Donald Trump sputtering "losers!" into a crowd. I get the idea that's it's better not inflate the egos of terrorists by calling them monsters, but there can be a middle ground between doing that and this. If anything, it gives off the impression that terrorism is winning because it's drawing a much more emotional reaction from the President in comparison to past leaders.

I am doing same to you for not taking a joke and being so serious.

Cool, see you

At least May can make a profound statement on behalf of her countrymen.

Trump just sounds like a cranky uncle that spews hot-air bullshit all day long.

-That said, Fuck terrorists.

In fact, if Trump simply tweeted "Fuck terrorists", I'd be OK with it.

Instead, he goes full genocidal maniac, knowing full well you can't "completely obliterate" terrorists. He just wants to "bomb the shit" out of everything.

It's also just such a standard insult from Trump. He has described so many people as losers it feels meaningless and more like Trump simply doing his usual thing

Why is it not possible to completely obliterate terrorism?

But ISIS are a bunch of evil losers.

I mean, Trump's rhetoric is usually awful for nearly all circumstances, but here it's right on the money.

The problem is his use of the word "loser", which is both childish and a word he's aimed at basically everyone on Twitter, which puts ISIS on the same level as Kristin Stewart and Rosie O'Donnell.

It's a pretty stupid descriptor, like "fartface". If you want to say that Trump is right on the money because ISIS are evil fartfaces, that's fine, but at least recognize how empty and dumb it sounds.

This is basically a vicious cycle. If you obliterate f.e. ISIS then someone will eventually come and say that what happened isn't fair and that other countries have no affair in their politics and religion and bam... a new terrorist group appears.

This is a simple example of course.

I don't agree with how he said it but I agree that something must be done.
