I feel like these numbers have been the same the past couple of weeks? Am I missing something here?

Different polls, the lowest I have seen from any poll was 33%

AP updated the article, Trump's average approval rating is worse than Jimmy Carter and first year Presidents usually have a honeymoon period for approval ratings, Trump is the first President to not have a honeymoon period:

In modern times. I imagine Confederate racist nazi states seceding from the Union and literally going to war against you would qualify as not having a honeymoon period either.

Trump is no Lincoln of course. He'd favor the other side.

Trump's approval rate will only continue to slide, but it's going to do so more and more slowly given how deluded anyone who still supports him is. I'm not even confident that screwing up tax reform and the border wall will even hurt him, when I could see his supporters just blaming it on the Congressional Republicans.

His support from Republicans took a bit of a dent after his failure to repeal ACA, so he's not immune to not living up to his promises.
