Trump to African Americans: "What do you have to lose?, You're living in poverty"

What do you say, honestly, to a person that realizes that Clintons policies in the 90's, and mostly all presidential/party policies has made things worse for black people, and still votes for the party that isn't talking about building a wall to keep mexicans out, banning muslims, promoting violence and saying he will cover it, trying to deny services to minority communities whenever they possibly can (Welfare/SNAP), stop minorities from voting by closing down dmv's and changing rules specific to minorities, etc?

Do you think that black people are unaware of Clintons history/Policy or Americans policy towards black people that has been nothing beyond institutionalized racism?

When the reality this year, is choosing between the two, and that whoever wins will create permanent positions in the Supreme court, and have heavy influence on the house of representatives. Which means that the flow of anti-brown/anything/especially women -- will pass with ease.

How can you come to a conclusion that the Democratic party is as bad as the party that wants to deny the rights of the LGBT community, muslims, hispanics, Remove gay marriage Which was voted on, repeal our healthcare program, tax the wealthy less, is anti science/Climate change/brown people in general. Openly, and makes constant efforts with their legislation, as a party, to do so.

Honest response please. Why is it worth it to not vote for either, when what is at stake is a party that is targeting the lives of multiple tax paying citizens in the nation, and has a history of bigotry and division.

You have a factual basket of things from the GOP that will literally make the lives of us, and others worse. The democrats have failed programs, but the goal of these programs weren't specifically to target minorities. Where as the GOP has specific ideals that target people, and keep them from voting. How can you come to the conclusion that the Democratic party, is just as vile, so you wouldn't mind if the republicans won the supreme court/house of reps for the next 20+ years, as that will be just as bad, or equal, to the progress we've witnessed over the past few decades?

If you have a dog in the fight, how can you justify a republican win -- by a non vote for the leading nominees for president. As that is how our system works. A vote for neither of the leaders is a vote for the other leading candidate.
I think in the other thread I said Id vote for Hillary out of necessity rather than because I actually like the candidate. Trump is crazy and for the longest time I thought he was trolling. Seriously though the effect of those policies cannot be understated. Some of those policies have literally destroyed the family black family structure, led to many unfair arrests, police brutality etc.. Leading to prisons being consistent of mainly black males. Literally destroyed communities, and the effects are still seen to this day. Prison system is like modern day slavery in a lot of ways.

Earlier last year I read a study that suggested that there was a lot more equality amongst different races in terms of health, income and education in the 70s than latter decades, will link study when not on mobile.

Out of all the candidates Bernie Sanders seemed to be the one I was most politically aligned with.

damn, i haven't paid much attention to the thread so i don't know why he was banned.

he did say something like "i know how to multiquote now" - was he a junior?

He was being disingenuous, playing the victim and moving the goalposts like an out of control zambone

same. I voted for him in the primaries. But its 2016. And a fascist party is officially running, whose platform is to deny equality. You can save your 70's links, as they have 0% to do with the current GOP/Trump platform. Some policies have destroyed communities, and yes, institutionalized racism is still a thing. These are not democratic problems, or Obama\Clinton specific problems that TRUMP\GOP is going to correct. I asked you to honestly reply, and you've done so.

This GOP is not about helping out black people. So if I have to vote between the two, and make sure the backwards current day GOP doesn't get power, I have to -- as always -- vote for the party who screws me over the least and isn't literally actively trying to screw over the community. Repercussions of bad legislation is politics, targeting the black community specifically as the GOP is doing makes it no hard choice.

I hope that the world will see the future bernie for what he is, after all is said and done. We've got significant problems in our nation. But those problems took 100's of years to be created, and they will take just as long to change. This election isn't about fixing all the problems for black people in America. Even our fellow americans don't give a single shit about that. Its about stopping a party that is going to actively pursue our misery being in a position where there are no obstacles in their way.

The history of America's treatment of blacks isn't anything that any rational person can rely on the GOP to fix. And that is what the context of this conversation is. The GOP has shown their cards, the democrats sprinkle their bullshit with some handouts along the way, but thats about the best case scenario when the nation still views, when polled, black people negatively. That is a large issue. Its is not what this election is about, and certainly nothing the GOP is realistically trying to resolve.

I don't expect any political party to fix anything. I'd vote for the candidate that would be most beneficial to all Americans which would be Hillary. However, what I don't appreciate is policies that make things worse off for communities, hence why I wouldn't vote for Trump. Arguably many of Bill Clintons policies made things worse for African Americans and Hispancs. All I'm saying.

Not that I'm defending Trump but generally speaking African Americans aren't doing too well. Clinton's policies in the 90's has made things worse in a lot of ways.

I wouldn't vote for either if I was in the position to vote

Democrats have a much better voting record when it comes to things that affect minorities. They also don't openly and shamelessly try to take away their right to vote.

There is no question they have to do a lot more, but there's also no question they're the better choice.

Damn reading your posts in this thread. You've become my favorite. It's everything I've ever wanted to say to ANYONE. Just well written and coherent. Thank you.

You're getting the ether too don't worry about it.

Man, why mods gotta ruin the fun right when it's about to get good?

Why was Trump in Dimondale? That's such an insignificant city about 7 minutes from me.

Guess it's because it's full of ignorant white people who support the clown.

Wonder what he'll tell them next time?

"And why do they call each other niggers? Or is it niGGhas?"I dont understand you people"

Oh God, yes, this is what is missing from Trump's run so far keeping it from perfect, him going off on the use of the N word and how Black people can say it but White people can't. Please Donald. Make this election perfection for me.

Folks, we're the Republican party. We believe everyone needs to pull their own weight. No more hand outs that reward laziness. I will educate you (I am an educator after all, had my own school) how to pull up your own bootstraps. .. and your pants while I'm at it. No more hand outs, no food stamps, no assisted housing. Some will nag us about this, but let me be clear WE-HATE-NAGGERS. We always have, and we always will.

Hahaha wow, a new low, who would've guessed!

Soon to be next step is a sex tape leak. :lol

(Plz no sex tape, the world doesn't need that.)

Finally Trump trying to captivate the black votes. Next he'll address hispanics. "You're already in, the wall is not for you! What do you have to lose? Vote Trump!"

BTW, if you're wondering if Trump's race baiting is just harmless rhetoric, remember there are a lot of easily influenced nutbags out there looking for an excuse or a leader:

Daniel Rowe was apparently enraged at the sight of a black man and a white woman kissing on the streets of Olympia, Wash., Tuesday night. But police say he hid his violent intent behind a stony face until he was close enough to strike.

The attack happened about 8:30 p.m. in the state's capital city on Fourth Avenue, a downtown street busy with people going to a local movie theater or visiting bars and restaurants.

Rowe had recently been released from Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, about 300 miles away. Police say he may have been among the ranks of the state's homeless, who flock to Olympia for help on their way to Portland or Seattle.

Rowe, 32, walked up to the couple and, without warning, yelled a racial slur and lunged with his knife, police say. The blade grazed the woman and went into the man's hip, according to a news release from Olympia police.

"The suspect is unknown to the victims and the attack appears to have been unprovoked," police said in the statement.

After the attack, Rowe ran off as stunned onlookers dialed 911. The 47-year-old male victim, not realizing how badly he was injured, chased Rowe and "tripped him up," said Lt. Paul Lower, a police department spokesman. Rowe hit his head on the ground and was knocked unconscious.

No one involved had life-threatening injuries, but police said Rowe's behavior grew stranger as officers tried to wrestle him into the back of a patrol car.

"He tells them, 'Yeah, I stabbed them. I'm a white supremacist,'" Lower said. "He begins talking about Donald Trump rallies and attacking people at the Black Lives Matter protest."

According to court documents obtained by the Olympian, Rowe, who was unconscious when police encountered him, had tattoos that read "skinhead," "white power" and "hooligan." One tattoo showed the Confederate flag.

Rowe was arrested and booked into the Thurston County Jail on two charges of first-degree assault and possible malicious harassment, which in Washington state is a designation used for hate crimes. The investigation continues.

"This has all the hallmarks of a hate crime," Deputy Prosecutor Joseph Wheeler said at Rowe's court hearing Wednesday, according to the Olympian. "This black-and-white couple was simply expressing their love for one another."

According to the newspaper, Rowe had been imprisoned for a 2008 conviction for second-degree robbery.

Rowe told police he had come to Olympia in response to anti-police graffiti that had been written over the weekend. Police were still investigating who wrote the graffiti, the spokesman said.

As the capital city and seat of the Washington state government, Olympia has seen its share of protests on controversial national and local topics, Lower said.

A year ago, protesters organized several demonstrations after a police officer shot and wounded two black men accused of stealing beer. The Seattle Times described the protest:

"It all began Saturday night when 150 protesters, some wearing masks, marched through downtown to counter-protest a planned gathering of white supremacists, an Olympia Police Department spokeswoman said Sunday.

"Some vehicle windows were broken and car tires were slashed. A man was stabbed in the arm about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, although that incident was thought to be unrelated to the protest, police spokeswoman Laura Wohl said."

In 2014, the FBI reported 5,479 hate crimes across the United States, a 14.6 percent decrease from 2013.

Lower stressed that Rowe is not connected to any of the city's protest groups.

In fact, investigators aren't sure whether he is connected to anyone in the area, Lower said. And officers were scratching their heads at Rowe's comments about fighting Black Lives Matter during a Donald Trump rally. Neither had events planned in Washington this week.

This mouth breather got knocked unconscious by his victim, but we're lucky nobody was killed.

If you cannot change hearts, then we are well, and truly fucked.

Well, those hearts'll stop beating eventually; thank God.

40 years guys. America'll be majority Latino. Our grandkids will all be bilingual. Hate crimes will be like terrorist attacks.

Hella baby boomers have to die off tho

$5 says once latinos finally overtake white people as the majority in this country, suddenly they'll all be considered "white".

No, just the ones that can pass for white. They'll resort to shitting on the darker Latinos if they think it means getting a leg up somehow. It already happens.

I think he's at the point where he doesn't even want the job and is sabatoging his own campaign with this ugly bullshit.

I think he's cranky. I think he's tired, frustrated that things aren't going his way, and it's causing him to turn off any kind of filter he has, as limited as it may be.

I fully expect things to get worse as election gets closer.

Is he ready to give up? Maybe. I don't think he is purposely sinking things, I think it would be more like him not putting in much effort and not caring so much what people think so he just does his own thing.

Shit, this is basically how it goes down in many Latin American countries. You already see Latinos that can pass as white shitting on minorities.

You guyyyyyyys :(

Cut it ouuuuuuut

We'll create a utopia before I die, I'm sure of it. My generation's the one! This is it!!!

Yeah, I never understood this hope some people have that America will become much less racist once Latinos are the majority.

Do they not know that racism is a thing in Latin America? Or that in the past, groups that weren't considered White in America, were pulled in under the umbrella of whiteness?
