He was an avid fan of noted videogames that promote toxic violent masculinity. Also reported that he didn't appreciate the "tone" of the TSA agent.
He cheat coded the machete, then tried to pass through TSA in reverse. Patch 2.14.01 hotfixes the exploit.

Dumb question, but is it even allowed to have items like a machete as a carry on luggage at the airport?
Given how paranoid this country is, I would think something like this would not be allowed on the plane.
Unless I misread the article and he just showed up at the airport with a machete and randomly attacked an TSA agent.

Machete as carry on luggage? Uh no lol.
As checked luggage? Probably ok. I've taken an AK-74 onboard before with little issue.

You misread the article, he walked in with the bug spray and machete on him, he wasn't coming off a plane or checking in. You can't get on a plane with nail clippers, no way you're getting on with a big knife!

TSA is annoying, but you just go through the motions to get on the plane. None of them ever need to be harassed or harmed over doing their job.
Shame anyone is shot, but branding any kind of weapon with the intent to hurt someone is never going to have an outcome where someone isn't hurt somehow.

He probably didn't have his gun drawn when he was attacked
TSA don't have weapons. Instead they rely on local police for protection. Especially after the LA incident.

Those people aren't even real. They are just idiots made to hold you up to make you feel safe. Nobody ever held up a plane with a machine gun but they scan you for them? It's called Security theater meaning it does nothing and has no reason other than to make you feel oppressed.
