Hey guys quick question.
My father in law has my old Sony Bravia tv, it's 55" and weighs 40lbs.
He wants to wall mount it on a plasterboard wall, smack bang in the middle of two thin wooden beams, that are 6 feet apart.
And he wants ME to do it.
Tell me I'm right in being a little, let's say concerned, here
Half inch plaster board has a pull down weight of about 40lb per 12 inch square. But would it REALLY hold this tv? In the middle of the damn section, no less...?
I have a feeling this will crate a new port hole into his kitchen more than anything. Maybe if there was a central beam I would be ok but just on blank plaster board?
Any advice gaffing peoples?
