Absolutely. At this point I'm not sure of anything, but it's a really enjoyable ride so far. I'm enjoying this series so much, it's like a long version of Inland Empire where I'm constantly thinking and rethinking things as the show progresses. I've been thinking that maybe the flashes in the plane windows was just supposed to give the viewer the illusion of the plane going through the middle of two mountains, two peaks, twin peaks.
But now that this weird flashing has also been added to the production logo it feels there must be some other explanation. Has anyone yet tried to interpret them as musical notes?

That would explain the "-E" part of Janey-E's name. It's as if to have this anagram they had to tweak the name a bit.

I just love that Everett McGill is there...went from practically falling off the map and only being a part of the new season due to a right time+place situation when Lynch called a house he didn't really live in (caretaker situation iirc), and now the dude is at SDCC. Right on.

Yeah, which is weird that they (Gordon, Albert & Tammy) seemingly haven't investigated that yet. Not to mention, the ring must have been planted, most likely by Doppelcoop or his minions, but why? Early on I figured he was trying to frame Dougie Coop, which makes sense, but once the headless body was inevitably identified as Briggs, Doppelcoop must have known that Gordon Cole and the FBI would be notified eventually. So why bother?
Either way, the Twin Peaks Sheriffs Dept. seems oblivious to both Dougie and Doppelcoop right now, unless I'm totally forgetting something.
Also that DOUGIE/JANEY-E/SONNY JIM thing is too weird to be a coincidence. I knew their names (well, not Dougie so much) were too weird for there to not be something to it.

According to the section in Secret History about JPL/Jack Parsons/Alistair Crowley/L. Ron Hubbard, there was eight "gateways to hell" and Parsons did some kind of ceremony at one which was near Roswell right before the alien crash/sighting there that Dougie Milford witnessed. I'd put my money on those "gateways" before nukes exclusively, but I guess it's possible. The only other one I remember being mentioned was in Pasadena, CA.
The other "known" door to the Lodges is in Buenos Aires isn't it? I was just searching and I can't find any history of any nuclear event there. There's a power plant, but no disaster/melt down or anything like that.
EDIT: Interesting side note: apparently almost everything in Secret History about Jack Parsons is 100% legit. From founding JPL, to his dealings in Thelemics/Crowley, to L. Ron Hubbard stealing his girl and his money, and even the part about the "Workings", i.e. rituals he performed. He even died in a "suspicious" explosion in his house. What a fascinating dude...

I hope the end to the Richard Horne arc is Dr. Jacobi stumbling upon an illicit drug deal in the backwoods near his home while Nadeen is simultaneously heading to his home to confess her love. Richard advances on the Doc to silence him for good and Nadeen goes berserk on sighting them. Richard tries to take her, not knowing her strength, and she flings him 20 stories into the air to be impaled a tree branch. Jacobi stares in awe and notices a small maggoty creature descend from Richard into the depths of the earth, mirroring the golden cloud that left the roadkill kid.
You can take that one for free, Lynch. It's on the house.

Ever since the first day I've been pretty vocal about how I didn't like TP. I stopped watching after the first 4 and last night watched the next 3.
There was a steady improvement for me, but episode 7 - about 25 minutes in, I thought to myself how engaged I was and how much it felt like the show I hoped this return would be. Overall by FAR the best episode I've seen...I know episode 8 is the 'crazy' one so we'll see how I feel about that.
I feel like, some day, someone is going to cut this down to an 8 episode season and it's going to be much better. But still, I was very happy to see episode 7 give me some hope.

Well, that's pretty fucking crazy.
That would be impossible. Since scenes that seem like they are meaningless all keep coming back to be important for unexpected reasons. There hasn't been a single scene (except arguably the musical acts) that could be removed so far in the narrative.

Pretty much all of Lucy's and most of Andy's. Definitely that terrible Wally scene. A bunch of the "Helllooooo" scenes. The diner scenes. James was always cool.
Let's not pretend that every single second is absolutely vital.

Why would you want to remove any of Lucy and Andy scenes?! Also, that scene with James and Shelly was awesome, and hit me hard seeing them after so long. It was also coupled with an excellent Chromatics song playing at the back.
People need to work on getting their ADD looked at rather than asking for art to be excised.

Nah, I'm not saying I want to get rid of any of the scenes. But the person I quoted said it'd be impossible to cut any because it would mess with the story, which I don't think is true at all.
8...you are in for a treat. For what its worth, #9 is also pretty great.
In any case, you sound like me when I first discovered Lynch...I hated Blue Velvet when I first saw it but eventually learned to love it.
I feel like this happening in the finale with Julee Cruise on stage could be an actual thing that would happen lol
There is padding in this show to be sure...I suspect that after filming everything they were short a bit and padded it out...My hope is that the pad was front loaded and things will be tighter as we get closer to the end.
Random thought...is it possible that we had the one week hiatus was planned so that episode 11 would be available to the folks at ComicCon?
I think Showtime calling this the Return was a dumb mistake. I know it was a marketing ploy by them but I think it backfired. They set up false expectations for a lot of people. Trying to bank on that nostalgia was foolish. I cringe when people call it the Return knowing that the creators themselves said it's just straight up Twin Peaks. I'm fully prepared for Coop to never come back.
I don't hold the old seasons in high reverence although I love them. I think some have got some serious rose tinted glasses. No doubt is was groundbreaking and hugely influential but at times it was downright horrid. At it's worst moments it became the sappy idiotic soaps it was satirizing. I don't want to go back to that. I'd take a hundred Dougies over one Catherine or Josie. Season 3 is missing a lot of those fun characters and more light hearted moments though which leaves it feeling pretty damn bleak. I have a feeling that the last episodes of season 3 are going to be the most Twin Peaks thing ever and will have that nostalgic feel to them. I believe people will get what they want it's just going to take a lot longer than they anticipated to get there.
I think this next episode is when shit really hits the fan. Momentum is building and pieces are coming together.

I think the subtitle is fine. It's the marketing and promo material that set up completely erroneous expectations with its heavy focus on the original cast who are basically nonexistent in the new series.
A lot of folks have really reeeeally rose tinted glasses when it comes to season 2. It's borerline unwatchable after Leland dies, then the finale saves it. Also the stuff where Catherine pretends to be Mr. Tojamura is sooo incredibly racist, yeah it was the early 90s but those parts are so embarrassing to watch.
But hey season 2 has some of the highest highs too, first 5 episodes or so are wonderful.

I just watched Season 2 for the first time this year, and the 7 or so episodes after Leland dies are, indeed, a dumpster fire. However, once Windom Earle becomes a thing, it starts to get back on track and build toward the awesome finale. It's really only that 7 episode patch that's unwatchable -- so about a 3rd of the season.

Yeah, I remember I didn't mind those episodes at all during my first watch. During the second watch, I was surprised to see storylines I didn't enjoy (Super Nadine! Dick Tremayne! Piper Laurie dressed as a racist stereotype) kick off much earlier than I recalled.
Now I avoid those episodes like the plague during rewatches (although sadly Jean Renault's end and the introduction of Denise are both in there somewhere).

I replyed to her Instagram conversation with Lynch that she is the most beautiful woman in the world. And I stand by that.
