after the atom bomb in ep 8 im convinced he wanted the effects to look exactly how they look. That atom bomb was the best ive ever seen.
or he blew almost the whole budget on that, because it looked great lol.

That was the most intense moment of the season for sure. Holy shit, if she had shot Cole I was gonna lose it. Cole is the star of this season without a doubt. Show couldn't go on without him.
Did anyone else think Tammy was talking about the guns after she and Albert shot Diane and said, "They're real!"? Like she was shocked they let her have a real gun? Intentional or not, that made me laugh out loud.
this is the funniest line in Twin Peaks.

I thought that the episode was over with the first song, and was starting to tune out and get back on my laptop.
Glanced at the TV......saw Audrey and "husband" show up. Did a double take and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was very confused and beginning to get a little disappointed.......all off the suspicions about how odd and off Audrey's scenes had been seemed to be out the window now ---- she'd made it to the Roadhouse, so no coma or anything, right? How disappointing.....
.......and then.................
........................................................
It doesn't get much more chill-inducing than that. The setup with the crowd clearing the dance floor. The music. The dance. The transition to her awakening or some other state.
Absolute masterpiece. That is what this season is.

This season is a true masterpiece. I'm still shaking after watching this episode. Cooper's awakening scene, Diane's "confession", Audrey's dance, everything was just so incredible.

I knew the payoff would be incredible. What a wonderful episode.
As for the effect work I think its fine. Reminds me a lot of Lynch's paintings and short films.

Fantastic episode. Almost Donovan-esque you could say. This is how you pay off all that build up.
Doop is a cold dude. Wasting his own kid like that. I wanted to know more about Richard oh well.
I love Chantel and Hutch. "That was the last fucking bag!" May you rest in piece and have all the cheetos you could ever want. That dude was packing a full auto glock god damn. "What the fuck kind of neighborhood is this?'
"I am the FBI." Incredible. Just the right amount of cheese and nostalgia. Classic theme playing was icing on the cake. I knew Coop would get the owl cave ring. Poor Sonny Jim and Janey-E.
I love that they gave Eddie Vedder a ridiculous fake name. Edward Louis Severson lol.
The Audrey story is paying off well. I kept expecting something bad to happen at the Roadhouse but I was not expecting that. She is like a puppet getting her strings pulled. Great way to end it.

The thought had crossed my mind but I thought they just gave him a fake name because I always knew him as Eddie Vedder. Hah I feel dumb now.

Holy fucking shit 16 was amazing. When that theme hit I leaped out of my chair and cheered. The ending was so wtf. The entire Dougie saga was already worth it and wonderful and now I feel some what bad for the family. All the Roadhouse stuff is coming together too. This might already beat Deadwood for me as greatest TV show of all time.
I don't think so. That's why Coop asked for a new seed: so he could give them "Dougie."

I thought a while back Red could be Mrs Tremond's grandson, simply because he does magic. He makes Garmonbozia disappear from a plate and into his hands in front of Donna, and in Laura Palmer's diary she notes that he walked up to her and pulled a coin out of her ear then walked away. He was also at the Red Diamond motel where Leland backed away from Teresa Banks cos Laura showed up. Probably a coincidence and Red is just a new character, but worth mentioning.
I think cheater Dougie came from Doop and this Dougie will be from Coop so I guess maybe he will be more pure?
I finished the episode and that might be one of my favourite episodes of the season. Coopers return singlehandedly justified every meandering moment of the series. I got teary eyed over it and the impact of it would have never been the same if they handled it in another way. It was great to see every single major relationship that Dougie had come into play in some way.
I wasn't expecting the version of Diane that we know to end up being manufactured as well. Audreys situation is finally coming to a head as well and even that is starting to justify those slow scenes that we've gotten from her so far.

Do we 100% know for the fact he's not back? I mean, I know he almost certainly isn't and I'm not expecting anything. Just still think it's weird how much they insist Harry's sick instead of killing him off, but maybe they thought that'd be cruel when there's actors that have actually passed away? But they did that for Hank, so...

since there was apparently no issue with Mr. C and Dougie being out at the same time, I think just returning Mr. C would be enough?

So far the manufactured people have had wigs. Dougie had a wig. Diane had a wig. It also looks like Audrey's hair was quite "wiggish" especially when compared to the cliffhanger-Audrey's hair. So maybe the Audrey with the bald unmidget guy is manufactured too.
And that said, Laura in FWWM wore a wig too :O :O :O :O :O
This episode was quite good, but there are a few things that left me a bit cold:
1. People again just suddenly getting killed off. The hitman-couple. Richard. To be fair though, who knows if they are really dead. But if this really was it for Richard, I'm very disappointed. "Remember Richard and Linda" makes me still have some hope though.
2. Somewhat disappointed in Cooper getting awake so quickly. He's too alert too quickly.
3. "I'm the FBI" line was not good. I don't think it fits Cooper at all. Felt really tacky and corny.
4. I kinda thought DougieCooper had been much more interesting to watch than the CooperCooper shown in this episode.
The positives:
-I really really like the Mitchum Brothers. And Mullins is great too. And Candie.
-While it almost seemed that Audrey was ruined even further with the semi-corny, although a bit otherworldy, throwback dance routine, the cliffhanger really saved the whole thing. Now, I'm not sure if I ever manage to endure her earlier scenes even on rewatch but I'm thankful there really seems to be a Twilight Zone twist on that character after all.
-The episode moved on in pretty solid pace, and pretty much everything that happened was interesting.
Phoebe Augustine was great in episode 3 though.
