Twitch Plays Pokemon Thread 3: Return of Red... Aussies win again!

So people want to release Feraligatr because he's too powerful and represents democracy... or something? And in the process we keep messing with the PC? I dont get it.

Well, ah, we just beat Jasmine handily with Surf, so...probably not gonna bother grinding anytime soon. :/

Hey, maybe we'll get lucky and need to grind by Claire, leading us to go down, then fall down that horrid ledge, curse our stupidity in not getting Fly, and grind the rest of our pokemon+get Fly

It won't happen. Best chance will be Red

I was hoping the difference in power wasn't significant enough to change the 1/3 to an OHKO. Apparently I was wrong.

I wish this was Gen 3 so we could be walled by a shedinja.

Woohoo Gator continues to one shot everything! How is this fun to watch again? Don't people want more moments like that incredibly tense Giovanni fight, or the amazing ATV vs Dragonite? We're not getting that if we just keep using Gator to instamurder everything in our way.

Hell, it's getting to the point that the one-sided fights where we get creamed are infinitely more entertaining.

EDIT: Twitch seems to be going with a plan to deposit him at the daycare. It's the only thing we've got right now so I'm backing it.

Watching Gator 1 shot everything isn't fun. But apparently having this opinion makes you a troll.

I really hope they drop him in the day care or something now, before we head to mahogany.

Edit: Seems someone has put my thoughts into plan form: http://imgur.com/1mQri5F

Yeah I'm convinced we'll be able to steamroll the Elite 4 and all the way to Red with just Feraligatr. There we'll see our toughest challenge that can't be won with one overleveled Feraligatr, and the stream will have to decide how we'll proceed. Especially if we still have a terrible team (not just levels, but the actual Pokemon too). And no fly by then? Won't be able to easily go back and get Celebi or a legendary bird or anything like that.

That's not too bad a plan so long as we can level everyone a bit and not just fall back to another single op Pokemon the whole time. Although if we do, well, at least that's 2 op Pokemon rather than just one. :P

Gator being too OP's only problem is him sucking up the EXP. If it doesn't bite us now, it'll bite us later.

Like, Level 81 Pikachu later.

This is a great plan actually. I'm for full support fo it. It also means withdrawing one of the to daycare pokemon at least, which means some decently leveled pokemon to use too

Entire party sweeped by a level 19 Mr. Mime. Yep, we really need to grind.

It's not only the fact that everyone's so weak, it's their movesets too. All pretty much terrible. We need to go TM hunting as well (and heck, we have a nice chunk of money, should be able to get something good at the Goldenrod Dept. Store while we're there).

Yeah.
Smoochum leveling would be good too, he (lol) has a good level up moveset
Do we have access to any stone Eeveelutions?

Not easily. Getting all the stones require going back to previous trainers after they call saying they have the stone. Or I think there's another way but it requires showing someone certain Pokemon that we don't have (and probably can't easily find/catch/put in our party).

We also need to teach the TM's we currently own. Shadow Ball would do wonders on Eevee. Mud Slap would be helpful on anyone with a good speed stat.

I don't know how watching Pidgeot use Sand Attack and Quick Attack on rock and/or ground pokemon for 10 minutes was any more entertaining, but I see your overall point.

Of course, it has gotten to the point that releasing Gator will only cause a bigger problem down the road (ie, days worth of grinding shitty pokemon, let alone getting rid of something that can get Surf and Strength, and they are totally going to get Umbreon). With that said, I don't see what is so hard about just putting him at the bottom of the list and keeping him there.

The main problem with Gator is he's monopolizing this run so much that none of the other Pokemon are even becoming worthwhile characters in the lore.

Guys like Rick Gastly, Keeper, Dux and Digrat who would have normally been worthless became loved because we had to turn to them in points of need.

This run just seems to be Gator one shotting everything himself.

RIP Togepi.

Wait, we released it? WAHAHAHAHA :D

An Umbreon would be nice.

A sensible plan? Not gonna happen.
I hope it does.

Edit: Aww what the fuck, we released Prince Omelette?

That's not even a Gator problem; the problem is that the novelty is gone. Now people are trying too hard to come up with lore stories and memes and the mystique of "is this even possible" is already gone (especially since these games are not that hard to begin with). Hell, Togepi was the closest one to a favorite and casted Sacred fucking Fire via Metronome, and barely any one even cares about his departure.

Gator is just an easy target; killing him isn't going to make this any more interesting and killing him isn't going to restore the 90k viewers that were lost in the transition.

Okay, so, I was on you a few times for wanting to release Lazor but I think this is a decent plan. The problem is, we'd have to grind for a really long time.

Also, I don't think having a more varied team would necessarily make the Stream more interesting. I still think the plan is decent simply because Lazor isn't going to carry us through to the battle with Red, but watching a team of three or four decently leveled Pokemon is not necessarily more or less fun than watching one Pokemon defeat everything. If the Stream remains the way it is with a decent team then it'll just be like a more time consuming Let's Play. I've said this before but I think most of the problems with this stream are inherent to the fact that it's trying to follow up the first stream.

Until he's out of the party, we're not forced to level up our other pokemon. Even when we put him at the back, all our others just die and then we keep moving on until the next pokemon center, where the cycle repeats itself and 1 pokemon in our team gets exp from 1 pokemon in a route. Once he's in the day care, we'll probably end up blacking out pretty often, but we'll be gaining exp for the rest of our party slowly, and he won't be able to steal any of it. We can pick him up again once we return to Goldenrod, or even better, once we're done with the Rockets entirely.

Yeah, even if we only pick up one pokemon from the daycare, male hoothoot/Brian and Eevee could become awesome powerhouses by that time

Shadow ball on Eevee is a good idea

Hootohoot, Brian, and Eeevee can all learn mud-slap

EDIT: WE'RE HERE GUYS

And this is brilliant

I am here. Do we have Fly yet? If so, we should teach it to a Pokemon if we can and get the Celebi Event taken care of.

Someone is ALIVE!!
And no. The ledge of doom will screw us in Blackthorn, I can feel it
I'm pretty sure Wooper was released D:(fave MVP), but didn't catch it. Did it actually happen?
Thought I was going insane for a 2nd there lol

We released Wooper? All these innocent pokemon getting the axe, it's so sad.

Edit: LMAO WE JUST DEPOSITED EVERYONE.

I'm surprised people are still into this after this long to be honest.

You see this? I'm dedicated to this, and also believe Crystal will eventually have a Route 9 moment that helps it gain a resurgence in popularity

I was just reading the doc to get updated, what is the story behind eevee being called burrito? also this seems to be way less popular than red or maybe people got tired of it

Level 33 Brian is awesome
What's his moveset?
Oh, and I think Daycare=guaranteed Wing Attack

Looked at level up moveset
Pidgey should have Whirlwind, Wing Attack, Quick Attack, and Gust

I thought red was amusing the first time, mainly because it was something new, and people are insane. Now I just get annoyed watching people troll and purposely hold shit back just for the sake of "Lulz".

We lost Wooper? You guys actually convinced me with all the pics and gifs that I actually began to like Wooper. And you're telling me that its gone? Just like that? :(

Just realized, with Wooper released, we're gonna need a new surfer for the Lake of Rage. Or more likely we'll just withdraw gator, and this whole trip will be pointless.
