I'm no slim jim myself. I'm overweight probably 30-40 lbs. Every shirt or sweater I buy is XL. And I eat a lot of junk food and pop. On the plus side I lost 10 lbs this year and held it off so far.

But I find it amazing when I see giant fatties. Not only does it mean they must pig out way more than I already do, but to maintain that fatness means their daily intake is so much it maintains a big body status quo.

Dont some people just get tired of eating? You'd think it'd get to a point that someone will just say forget it. I'm just eating too much, emptying my fridge and spending too much money at the grocery store. So let's just back down a bit the rest of the month. It's like spending money eating out. It gets to a point, to just sit back, chill out, save some cash and cook cheap stuff at home.

I agree with you as being now 56 years old and someone who loves food and being 6'8" I am always fighting to keep myself under the 240lbs mark and I am a very large framed man so weight can get on me very fast

One of my older team mates kind of dropped out of our get togethers many years ago and simply did not want any of us visiting any longer

When his wife passed several years ago I went to see him and I see why he stopped coming as he was simply massive and was ashamed for us to see him

One of my knee surgeries was pretty major and I had some complications from it, so I was not able to do much for a couple of months and I put on extra weight and I was miserable

My other knee started hurting, my back was killing me, I just was not happy

It just becomes a habit. And we you stop eating you have the constant urge to eat more and more. You spend money on it and you understand that, but you just can't stop even if you are aware of that. I lost 10 kilos and even still I need to lose another 10 to get the "ideal" weight, and it becomes increasingly hard and sometimes I eat more than I need. But still I am trying to maintain 96-97 kg at least and not go above 100 kg.

The worst part is that affects the joints creating trouble in the future when for you example want to start running or lifting.
