The donations get read by that voice program and their either swears for the streamer and just plain terrible stuff but these streamers never turn it off because they respond to these trolls and thus more donate

And this is a problem how? Those streamers want money so they do what they needs to, they can disable the voiceover script if they want to. The "trolls" who give them money are idiots but it's their money so they can burn it away for all I care.

So what's the real issue here OP? Is it because they are girls getting money by idiots that annoys you? Would you be annoyed if they were boys? I definitely don't understand what's you're complaining about..

It has been really fascinating watching games go from being something talked about at the water cooler to becoming the water cooler.

Twitch almost uses games as more of a "safe space" than anything else. Everyone is united under a single banner, but because it is only a "space" we still get a lot of creativity and expression from all those involved.

nobody is asking for money.

I must imagine thousands of streams, that ask directly for money then. Good thing is, that they are still a minority.

Its actually the exact same thing.

Like... its literally the exact same thing.

The only difference is where the money is going. If the streamer said this money is going to charity (Like EVO) then it would be the exact same thing.

I'll I read is "people are giving money to a cause I don't like, it ruins everything" vs "people giving money to a cause I do like, its wonderful"

Its up to you whether or not you want to donate to certain streamers, but to say it ruins the platform is absolute subjectivity on your end

To me it's not the same thing. Because EVO or AGDQ/SGDQ are not faking it.
