I've seen twitter getting more and more popular..everyone is chirping and tweeting like those damn birds on my roof that wake me up every morning. Am I the only one that really has no interest in twitter? I don't really care what anyone else is doing enough to basically cyber stalk them. Which is pretty much what twitter is all about, really. Anyone else feel the same or am I alone here?

The only thing worse than twitter is people who make a big scene about either A) pretending not to know what twitter is, or B) yelling that twitter is stupid.

Twitter is super cool

Kanye West doesn't like Twitter either.

(This spaz comes courtesy of losers making fake Kanye West Twitter accounts) I DON'T HAVE A FUCKING TWITTER... WHY WOULD I USE TWITTER??? I ONLY BLOG 5 PERCENT OF WHAT I'M UP TO IN THE FIRST PLACE. I'M ACTUALLY SLOW DELIVERING CONTENT BECAUSE I'M TOO BUSY ACTUALLY BUSY BEING CREATIVE MOST OF THE TIME AND IF I'M NOT AND I'M JUST LAYING ON A BEACH I WOULDN'T TELL THE WORLD. EVERYTHING THAT TWITTER OFFERS I NEED LESS OF. THE PEOPLE AT TWITTER KNOW I DON'T HAVE A FUCKING TWITTER SO FOR THEM TO ALLOW SOMEONE TO POSE AS ME AND ACCUMULATE OVER A MILLION NAMES IS IRRESPONSIBLE AND DECEITFUL TO THERE FAITHFUL USERS. REPEAT... THE HEADS OF TWITTER KNEW I DIDN'T HAVE A TWITTER AND THEY HAVE TO KNOW WHICH ACCOUNTS HAVE HIGH ACTIVITY ON THEM. IT'S A FUCKING FARCE AND IT MAKES ME QUESTION WHAT OTHER SO CALLED CELEBRITY TWITTERS ARE ACTUALLY REAL OR FAKE. HEY TWITTER, TAKE THE SO CALLED KANYE WEST TWITTER DOWN NOW .... WHY? ... BECAUSE MY CAPS LOCK KEY IS LOUD!!!!!!!!!

Twitter is bullshit, but consider this, I thought myspace was bullshit too and then we got facebook which was actually cool. So maybe there'll be a cool twitter soon.

Also, lol@corporations, goddamn the admen are SUPER into twitter.

It's just another method of networking. Those looking for jobs would be wise not to reject any avenues before they give it a chance. As it is, it's just an open-roomed single person instant messenger. Not terribly productive outside of having another method to find the content I'm interested in.

I use twitter to keep up to date with news, see whats going on with industry insiders/development progress of games, to put myself out there, and to network with friends.
If you don't care about anything like that, well thats fine, see quote.

How many times do we need to have this thread? Nobody's forcing you to go to Twitter.

Twitter rules. I just love to tweet about how much my shit stinks in various analogies after I took a dump. Often I also tweet about how much it hurts while taking a dump.

If you don't care about Twitter then stop whining about it.

The same logic apply here, no one cares about what you think about Twitter.

Ok... i just registered my twitter account yesterday.
Its a great way to get news about games from developers.

Twitter doesn't bother me as I NEVER GO THERE.

This is how I feel about facebook and myspace. I use twitter but if I didn't like it I would not go there and be bothered by it. The OP seems to have issues with Twitter that makes him visit the website and become bothered with it.

Very True and sometimes they give away prizes for example 2 days ago Capcom unity was giving away codes for the resident evil iphone game.

This is very original. No one has made a thread about how they don't care about this website anymore and feel the need to share that with everyone.

so you hate that twitter is popular? How would you know people are using twitter if you do not have twitter yourself? I really do not see how this impacts your life if you just ignore twitter. I hate myspace so I do not use it nor do I have an account there so therefore it does not bother me.

Here's the thing that many people fail to understand, historically speaking:

Almost everything that is interesting, useful, productive, or worthwhile, began its existence as a toy, experiment, or something bizarre that people at the time thought was pointless or useless.

Twitter is just the newest toy on the internet that has qualities which charm a lot of people, so they're playing with it. It's not particularly useful in any major way right now.

Of course, like all such things, there are plenty of people who are just so concerned with what other people are doing with their time (almost in a... stalkerish... way... interesting...) that they can't help but fume over what people are playing with on their own time!

Did GAF do this for every other social networking thingy?

It's an RSS feed filled up with people of your choosing. If that doesn't appeal to you, super.

Twitter is 2009's version of "The Macarena".

I hope you're right.

Sure, we don't have to go there if we don't like it for now. Just like Facebook and MySpace before it, if your friends are there you eventually get dragged in kicking and screaming. I personally hate that I have a Facebook page, but I caved in because so much social discussion / planning in my circle was happening there.

At the bar on Friday night...
Me: "Huh?"
Them: "Well, if you were on Facebook you would've known that."

Do you realize how sad it is for someone to "hate" that they have a Facebook page?

Stop pretending to be bothered by something so you have something to complain about. Don't like it? Don't make it. No one forces you to.

Either you get with the times or you don't. It's up to you. Just don't complain as if these sites exisiting somehow affects your life.

If no one cares about folks' brief thoughts and opinions, why are folks posting their brief thoughts and opinions on GAF?

http://search.twitter.com

If you wanted to know what people were thinking about the Lost season finale as it was happening, you would have searched "lost" that night to find out.

Twitter is the current events/word search to Google's web/image search.

If you don't find that useful or you hate it, that's cool, but don't act like posting on and reading GAF is any better.
