It's stuff like this that makes me afraid to go canvass, or do other volunteering this election. My anxiety is already pretty bad as it is; people with guns just makes it worse.

If you canvass with the Democrats, you don't visit Republicans. Instead of persuading Republicans, it's more effective for them to visit Democrats to remind them of early voting and vote-by-mail, and to help them make a plan to go vote.

Actually, around now is the perfect time to start canvassing, because historically as the election gets closer smart campaigns focus less on persuasion and more on just making sure supporters vote by November 8th.

You're right, I would never say it, I'd be tempted to but I have an immense amount of self-control, besides, voting is enough of a counter-protest as it is.
