It's weird how they look like Trump supporters but also, at the same time, look like they'd fit right in at an Arcade Fire concert or something.

You're not allowed to have on any shirts or support buttons or anything where I'm from when you go inside the polling area. These people will get arrested very quickly if they tried to bring a gun or walk up on someone. Depending on the area of course, they'll probably just tell them to leave.

Thankfully. He is losing like every state he needs to win. But he still has brought out this ugly side of America, which I don't think is going to go away even when he loses. We should be talking about that. He has damaged the US already.

I've been saying this for the last year. No matter what the result, he's brought out the people who think everything the right wing media tells them to believe even if they downright lie to their audience-- which is way too often. I work with a guy who is a Trump supporter and believes every headline there is about Clinton.

But at least I think he's somewhat levelheaded about the result...in fairness he told me I should buy a gun now because if she wins she's going to ban them all and the price will skyrocket the day after...

This is voter manipulation. They're scaring people into voting for Trump.

If people show up with guns then there needs to be a large police presence

“I’ll look for . . . well, it’s called racial profiling. Mexicans. Syrians. People who can’t speak American”

Well, I guess the language of stupidity finally has a name. 2016 can't end fast enough.

If you don't speak American, well then you can just GET THE HELL OUT! 🗽

They can't know who you vote for inside the booth, nor does this tactic do anything about "voter fraud". It's to keep certain people from voting at all.

Other people that are a little worried to speak out because of possible persecution," he said.

Yep, the people menacing their political opponents with guns are the ones being persecuted.

Trump has explicitly encouraged this behavior at his rallies. I'm afraid that it's going to get worse and I'm really afraid of what might go down on election day.

Why can't Trump or his supporters be arrested for these intimidation antics?

For the first time in a half-century, Americans will go to the polls in November without the full protection of the Voting Rights Act. Following a 2013 U.S. Supreme Court ruling invalidating a key section of the 1965 law, the U.S. Department of Justice has had to curtail its federal observer program, under which trained monitors oversee access to ballot boxes in areas historically prone to discrimination.

Here you go..

Reading this article. These types of people are so delusional.

Shits gonna go down election day. All those dumb, passionate pieces of shit that think Trump is their god and the system is rigged are also dumb enough to pull the trigger. Im seeing a slightly rapid shift into 'civil war' talk from these crazies. All the republicans fault for cultivating this mess and the media for turning it up to 11. Even if Trump loses you have almost half the country who think they got cheated and support that piece of shit. Dark times ahead.

I love how he suggests that he's going to follow them inside the voting booth.

My guess is any kind of accent qualifies.

It's probably a pipe dream because white privilege, but it would be nice if the powers that be started calling this shit what it very literally is: terrorism. I know the media cycle is still consumed by the sex predator scandals, but the fact that the GOP nominee for president is calling for acts of domestic terrorism seems like a pretty big fucking deal.

You know, all these years I've always been kind of deadpan when reading articles. Never really made any facial expressions or anything buuuuut

I've actually noticed that in the last 6 months or so, I've been having reactions like the gif to sooooo many more stories, and it's 99% of the time related to Trump or his supporters.

Anyway, I just got my absentee ballot today so I'm filling this thing out ASAP and mailing it in. Thank god CA allows you to vote by mail for no reason

I wish that after Hillary wins we could just deport all these deplorables to Russia, especially now that they all seem to be sucking on Putin's taint.

I know that it's illegal and would never happen, but it would be fitting for these people bitching about "Muh Constitution" (which to them really just means gun rights and freedom to be a racist) were forced to learn the hard way what it's like to not have things like:

- Freedom of the Press
- Freedom to express nonviolent speech
- Freedom from unwarranted search and seizure
- Right to a fair trial for both civil and criminal cases
- Right to not have the government force you into giving a confession
- Freedom from Cruel and Unusual punishment

These people are so scared and weak. It says so much that they have to bring guns to scare people at the voting booths.

Even their party's Jesus agrees with you..

The law, a response to the Black Panthers' conspicuous exercise of the right to armed self-defense, also was supported by Gov. Ronald Reagan." As the bill's conservative sponsor, Don Mulford (R), argued in 1989, "openly carrying a gun is an 'act of violence or near violence,'" Sullum noted.

Eh, I'm still not worried about election day. Even this really isn't that big of a deal, even though the men in question should have been removed (even without the guns, couldn't they be removed for loitering?). The guys in question didn't do anything really outside try to look scary, and as long as they're not going into polling places and actively hassling people it's just going to be a couple of guys standing around trying to look tough. Most people will just ignore them and go about their business. I think most people, as dumb as some of them are, know that if they actually go into a polling place brandishing a firearm, they are going to be in hot shit.

Curious. Where do you live? And why do you presume folks will just go vote and ignore stories like this?

Trump is empowering Right-Wing Extremist Terrorism.

If there is one thing bad about Trump, it is that he is almost too good to be president.

I look forward to more of these brave, bearded souls making their way into fake VA to try and save our misguided souls.

Yeah, this is sarcasm, if not, I'm not even going to bother on going any further.

Arrest for what exactly? Open carry is legal and they weren't holding a gun on anyone

No, but being creepy and stalking a Democrat Campaign office armed with guns is the problem. Why for exactly? They are trying to terrify people into not voting, or voting for their master.

You really can't defend this.

No, not really defending it, but they weren't breaking any laws either. If they were asked to leave the property and refused, or were actively up and harassing people then yeah, I'd call that illegal.

That "Make America Great Again" hat always gets me.

Especially since its made in China. Plus how would these guys feel if a bunch of black dudes, women, and American Muslims showed up at the voting booths armed and protesting as well? Would they feel like they were being bullied with fear tactics? Would they admit it if they were?

These sorts of tactics dont fix things. You can't hold a gun to the head of the world and expect it to change. It'll only dig trenches between you and the world ever deeper and breed more resentment and close minded actions from everyone.

This election has brought about the worst in the country. Its radicalized many on both sides and its pushed people apart. The entire race seems like a competition to see how much hate it can breed between folks of different political, economical, and religous alignments.

I just want folks to realize that all we all want is for us all to be able to live our own lives securely and safely in communities that care for each other. We're all the same in that. You can't get there through hate and intimidation though.

I live in TN.

And really, if there's no threat of real violence, why do we presume people will be scared and not vote? It's insanely easy to just ignore someone who is standing there. If they're hassling people, it may unsettle, but then they'll most likely be asked to leave by the voting station and if they refuse, the authories will be called. And if they actually take out their firearm, they'll be in serious trouble. We don't live in the wild west, and I think even hardcore Trumpers understand this.

And I just don't think people are so spineless and afraid that something like this will make a difference. As much as Trump as enboldened the alt-right, I think he's equally enboldened the left to be against him. I don't think people this election cycle are going to be so easily bullied.

Reading this article. These types of people are so delusional.

“If she’s in office, I hope we can start a coup. She should be in prison or shot. That’s how I feel about it,” Dan Bowman, a 50-year-old contractor, said of Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee. “We’re going to have a revolution and take them out of office if that’s what it takes. There’s going to be a lot of bloodshed. But that’s what it’s going to take. . . . I would do whatever I can for my country.”

He then placed a Trump mask on his face and posed for pictures.

Yup.I fear Trump's dangerous rhetoric is going to have terrible consequences. And you gotta wonder if the fool even realizes it.

It's easy to forget, but all this talk of revolution stuff was around in '12 too. People are more vocal about it now that they have such a vocal candidate, but the same kind of shit was being said about Obama when he was running. It won't happen because, despite what these people say, they live a relatively comfortable life. And I suspect they realize for all the talk of our "gutted" military, they know if they evet rose up, they would be stomped so fast they probably wouldn't have enough time to know what the fuck even happened.

Romney wasn't fanning the flames though.

God I hope nothing major happens on election day, the level of dangerous stupidity is escalating too quickly for me.

Stay safe on election day US-GAF...

Yup. Good post. Madness is intensifying over there. Voting should not mean that people get killed. By accident or by design.

Yeah I saw that yesterday. This is insane. They were planning to kill a whole bunch of innocent people. And I don't really know if they understand that if they did that...THEY are the terrorists.
