TOKYO—Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that two more PSP games that were scheduled for simultaneous release with the handheld’s Japanese launch on December 12 will be delayed.

Koei’s Mahjong Taikai will be hitting stores 10 days later on December 22, while Electronic Arts’ Need For Speed Underground Rivals won’t see the daylight until almost three months later on February 17.

Thus far, a total of three games will miss the PSP’s launch across the Pacific. Last week, SCE announced that Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory will also be delayed to an unspecified later date.

Well at least with Need For Speed they won't be competing with Ridge Racers anymore :lol

Edit: but they may end up competing with GT Portable!

Games delayed?!??!! Unheard of! Well that about wraps it up for the PSP!

No gloating! Lets be respectful to the Sony fans.

as mentioned - probably to avoid going up against Konami's Mahjong fight club and Ridge Racer respectively.

Mahjong Fight Club was huge in the arcade, if it supports wireless play, i might even buy it.

as long as Lumines, Mingol, and Ridge are at launch - i see no reason to slice anyones throat.

I'm still nervy, i need to have the machine in my hands before i'll be happy.

Yeah I bet developers will love that.

Nintendo's certainly fine with it.

65 million + GBA's and going strong. You generally don't need software to sell a handheld, just a few Pokemons here and there.

Trade in your PSP pre-order slips for in-store credit...

...it's all over!!!

Sell your X-BOX's, Xenon's coming out next year already...

...it's all over!!!

Sorry, PSP preorders are delayed, Trade has been delayed, 'it's all over' is delayed, X-BOXes are delayed, Xenon's are delayed, 'Exclamation points' are delayed and
s are delayed into sometime in 2006.

SELL YOUR...

Ah, forget it. As long as Ridge Racer and Vampire Chronicle aren't delayed at launch, I'll get one ASAP.

I'm sure none of them are loosing any sleep over this.

Are you crazy? What will I ever do without my Mahjong? What will I do without my NSFU:Rivals!?

I'm lost without them! The PSP launch is ruined!

Nintendo is actually making a profit off the hardware though. Sony in this case would not be very happy if there was a low attach rate of games.

Exactly, so let's hope Sony sells a lot of software.

I'm importing a PSP and not buying a DS, but I'd like to see the DS do better than the PSP,. Weird, I know, but gaming still needs Nintendo to be at the forefront of something.

SHOCK

it looked like total ass at TGS, so this is a good move.

Given how NFS:Rivals looked at TGS they would be better off scrapping the whole thing and start over anyway, so can't say that one comes as any surprise :P

EA smart as always...Anyways DCharlie is right...With Lumines/RR/VS at launch there is no need to worry about those !!!!
