You know, I know that in the end an Iraq governed by it's own people will be a good thing... I think... but goddamn....

Because as we all know, it won’t be a sham-puppet government controlled by US oil interests. Oh...
This news is a disgrace and further shames greedy America foreign policy.
“Dead mother of dead marine. Your son is dead but on the bright side, we’ll be able to buy golden bathroom fittings for our third homes. So there is a silver lining.”
I am not religious but I hope that if there is a god, he’s watching this and taking notes.
:(

From CNN article

Bush was asked about the fatal crash during a White House news conference.

"Listen, the story today is going to be very discouraging to the American people. I understand that. We value life and we weep and mourn when soldiers lose their life," he said. "But it is the long-term objective that is vital, and that is to spread freedom."

It's all about the freedom. You can tell this from the way George Bush keeps saying it's all about freedom. What a cunt. I really, really hope he dies.

Compare this statement to his stance on stem cells. It'd be comically hypocritical if it wasn't sad.

The absolute ignorance of Bush and what he thinks he's doing in Iraq is unbearable sometimes. How does he think freedom will come to these people? By imposing a way of government onto a country that's not fit to accept it yet? With or without a "government" in place, Iraq's problems will NOT be fixed. Bush thinks he can apply a quick bandaid onto a country that's bleeding from all corners.

If/When the investigation reveals that this Super Stallion crashed due to mechanical malfunction, what will be said then?

Bush: "I'm sad. :: flashes horns sign::

Rice: "I mourn the loss of every soldier. I saw pictures once. It impugned my dignity."

Gonzales: "Some things are worse than death. At least they weren't being interrogated by American forces."

Rumsfeld: "Bring up mall security and send them out."

You'll notice that in other cases they initially reported them as crashes. Also there were crowds that saw it happen. It wasn't till later that they acknowledged it was shot down. This statement usually follows the news report with the guy saying he saw the missle hit it. Untill you see that guy on the news it crashed. I'm not tring to say that this is a big conspiracy, I'm just a skeptic.

How can any fucking rational person with any, I'm talking an inkling here, sense of compassion and ethics be fine with this? How is it humanly possible to somehow not find the outrage at this statement? What sort of bizarro alternate world do I live in that my "opinions" somehow fall into the "raving loon liberal with totally unfounded hatred of Bush" camp instead of the "total common fucking sense" camp? Who really buys lines like "and that is to spread freedom"? WTF? Is freedom the new gonorrhea? Cuz we sure as hell are fucking everyone.

I used to like Bush, but his comments in the past year over US soldier's deaths are starting to piss me off.

Do the ends really justify the means, as we approach 2,000 US military casualties?

Americans have go to be the most tolerant human beings on the face of the planet.
Any other country(save a few European ones) would've revolted by now.....

That's too nice of a comment. I think the reality is that most of us are either too stupid or too apathetic about these issues to raise a ruckus.

Or too religious.....It is, after all, God's plan.....

I'm almost afraid to pray for my little brother's safety in Iraq. It's as if every time someone(Bush) prays for our soldiers' safety, something like this happens....
