Ubisoft has been hacked !

Episode 2 Whatever GIF

Poor Ubi. This is pathetic, like a thief breaking into a poor person's car. Most hackers would get in there, see there's nothing worth stealing, and feel so bad they leave a good game or two.

I mean....does anyone care? Ubisoft's output has been the video game equivelant of gruel.

"Wow! They're making a new Assassin's Creed!"
"Oh no way! A new Far Cry!?"
If it has the source for games going back to the 90s then it's actually fucking huge.

People should care because there's a none zero chance sensitive player data was also taken. Also, between Avatar and Star Wars, there's likely a lot of information on the licensing agreements between Ubisoft and Disney that those companies would rather remain private.

Assassin's creed

You get my point. Their will be no surprises.

Maybe we'll see that original version of Zombi U, that cancelled Splinter Cell, the PoP that's been in dev hell, and Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Disney FURIOUS right now after licensing for the outlaws flop 😂

Damn, its a good thing they couldn't actually be victims of theft as according to Ubisoft, not only do we not own our purchases, but we should get used to not owning them, so fair enough, silver linings and all that.

Hopefully the private customer data isn't leaked or sold. That shit can hurt people for decades.

As for Ubisoft itself, I don't have much sympathy. They'll run what's left of their IT team into the ground in the next few days to come up with some kind of resolution, and then fire them once they've fulfilled their legal disclosure obligations.

Considering how many people they compelled to sign up for their launcher just to play their purchased games - it would be a tremendous breach of trust if their customer data was compromised. Unsurprising, as well, considering Ubisoft has been a mess for quite some time now. I do hope that isn't the case, though, for the sake of their customers. Couldn't care less about Ubi in this scenario, however. Like you, I don't have much sympathy.
