I didn't want to make a thread until i saw that it will be live streamed. It is really interesting announcement and i am really curious to see what they will announce.

Doesnt seem to be about Ubisoft as a whole but something related to their efforts in Quebec

its probably an expansion

settle down guys

OBIVOUSLY is the long awaited announcement of Ubi Art as an engine for indie devs like Ancel once dreamed

If it happens in Chicoutimi, it's likely that they're opening a branch there. This is framed as related to Quebec, therefore QUITE unlikely to be Vivendi related. Like I said, Chicoutimi is quite far from where Ubi QC and MTL are, it's a small city in Quebec.

I'm guessing they're getting another giant tax break to start yet another studio in Quebec so they can have 20,000 employees at Ubisoft instead of 12,000.

Yes vivendi! I hope they manage to succesfully kill off all their unsafe and creative products! Dont want those soiling our industry!

I read it as the announcement taking place in front of the Minister of France and got all wide-eyed and slack-jawed for a second.

I'm guessing it'll be a support studio or something related to Mocap, as Chicoutimi has a population of around 65,000 people. It's also quite far from city centers!

It's happening in Chicoutimi? That's like, kinda middle-of-nowhere-ish.I would have thought Montreal or Quebec City.

Yeah mods probably should put NOT VIVENDI RELATED in title :D i really think that it is not about Vivendi situation (maybe it is but not directly related). But it is really interesting that they are doing it this way.

The idea of Yves Guillemot going to Chicoutimi is pretty funny to me. If they open a studio in Chicoutimi it'll be even funier!

Damn how the first 6 posts in a row are shitposts that don't have anything to do with the news

This is just Ubisoft from QUEBEC CITY announcing something, probably an expansion. The biggest studio in Canada is the Montreal one. Vivendi is a french company. No, Ubisoft getting bought wouldn't make them better at all

GAF hivemind can be really pathetic, after people wonder why gamers are jokes. You wouldn't even see those shit comments/misinpretations on freaking Facebook news comments

Doesn't look like it's Ubi QC City announcing something in particular, it looks like it's Ubisoft as a whole announcing an expansion in the province of Quebec, basically in Chicoutimi. My bet is a dedicated Mocap studio.

If its Vivendi, Nintendo needs to pick up the Mario x Rabbids team because you know the talent is just gonna start pouring out of this studio.

Christ. Relax dude. It is just a running joke and there really isn't a whole lot to talk about about the announcement as nothing is hinted. Agreed it probably has nothing to do with vivendi buyout as they wouldn't really be hyping up something like that especially when they don't want to be taken over.
