What did lesnar/overeem weigh in at? And any knowledge of what they fought at? And anywhere online I can see the fight for free?

Don't get me wrong I have. But in recent fights Overeem has been tentative and patient(not a bad thing) and measuring his shots more... In the octagaon JDS in his fights just looks faster

I think it was just a matter of styles. Werdum and Brock are better on the ground, and he didn't want to over-commit to anything and give up a takedown. JDS likes to strike, so I think you will see a fight more suited to Overeem's strengths. It should be exciting, that's for sure; JDS has the pop to test Reem's chin, though I think he'll get clinched, rag dolled, then GnP'ed.

I find it very hard to believe he hadn't been informed about that.

But I guess it's possible they kept it from him to keep his head clear.

Well the Xbox stream did eventually work for me, so I at least got to see the last two fights (too bad I missed Fitch getting KOed lol).

I honestly think JDS will knock out Overeem. His hands are much faster and he has better head movement. I think JDS will play it smart, circle Overeem, avoid the clinch, and eventually catch him with a big right hand.

yeah, he took a couple vicous knees that could take the wind out of anyone.

His illness likely makes training more difficult and he might feel the effects after the fight, but it's proabably the last thing he's thinking about/feeling once he's in a fight.

Why the hell do people say shit like this?
ALL of the prefight talk by Brock and camp said he was in better shape than ever and happier than ever.
And Brock with his "Baddest man on the planet" "This is my octagon" "I'll defeat him, that's the bottom line"

The sob stories, poor sick Brock stuff is dumb.
Brock was exposed as a Kimbo Slice with better gifts and athleticism.

The Cowboy-Diaz pre-hype stuff was pretty much all manufactured. You never shit on yourself prior to a PPV. It's part of the game and can't be trusted.

I called first round stoppage soon as the fight was made.

Brock is now finished and UFC have lost their biggest ppv draw.

Wouldn't be surprised if inoki books him for IGF!!

growing pains. hard to blame them for milking it but in the long term ufc is better off banking on guys who can actually fight rather than sideshows. that shit is always short-lived; developing and marketing a great sport is not

Just got back from the bar. I don't watch UFC too often, but I feel like Lesnar is made out of glass.

He took a ton of punishment from Carwin without trouble. He gassed pretty quickly against Cain (went all out in the first 30 seconds and didn't land much IIRC).

Now that I think about it, it was the same way against cain as I recall: The punches weren't the problem, the kicks and knees were though.

He had diverticulitis in his colon, with perforations in his intestines causing fecal matter and other waste to leak into his abdomen, resulting in abscesses in his stomach and weakening his immune system to the point where he contracted a severe case of mononucleosis. He had to have... I think it was something like a 7 inch incision made and 18 inches of his colon removed, or something ridiculous like that. You don't recover from the health problems brock had and ever become 100% again though, I think. Certainly not enough to take kicks and knees from a K1 champ directly to the lower abdomen a year afterwards.

Now, Lesnar has never been one who took punches well. I don't mean as in he has no stamina or gets knocked out easily, I mean as in he's intimidated by strikes more than most heavyweights. So when you put him up against a guy like Cain or Carwin or overeem he'll appear to be made of glass because he's so green about taking punishment. That could be what you're thinking.

Gotta admit I am happy to see brock get his ass kicked.

To me he will always be the guy who drew the smallest Tokyo dome gate ever as a main eventer and also the guy who ran home with the belt when new japan asked him to drop it.

Arrogant twat who needed to be put in his place :-)
