Women's MMA has never had any money in it, and has remained stagnant for over a decade. A few diamonds in the rough, but it's never been anything more than a dangerous hobby until very recently.

Joanna is a fine fighter and a credit to women's MMA, but she's one of a very small handful. She's basically a Marco Ruas in a sea of Harold Howards. Ronda is playing the part of Royce, sending a future generation of women's fighters flocking to their local dojos.

We could be seeing a women's martial arts revolution in the next 5-10 years.
