The main event was probably the least interesting match of the night because everything else was so good. When was the last time that happened? The main event was ok but I expected a lot more. I just don't like the way Jardine fights and Chuck had a very disappointing night

Griffin/Shogun was great as well. Shogun was impressive on his debut, even though he slowed down about halfway into the fight. Forrest Griffin did very well though. I'm predicting a title shot for him within nine months unless he has a massive loss soon
Shogun was NOT impressive in his debut by any stretch of the imagination.

Mauricio gassing in 7 minutes? Nakamura looking like a can? Wow.

Thiago vs Tyson was my fight of the night.

Superstitions about 2007 be damned, Fedor should sign on. Recent pride fighter disappointments do not diminish Fedor at all. This is fucking Fedor. If a dude steps into the cage with machine guns for arms, Fedor will meet him with a kevlar exoskeleton.

...If Fedor comes to the UFC and loses I'll cry, haha.
You're right. It doesn't diminish Fedor's talents but it does get a lot of the bandwagon jumpers off so that when someone post a reasonable argument about how Fedor can be beat, they don't get flamed. Fedor is such a smart, well-rounded and evolving fighter that it seems he can win from any position but that's not entirely true. He wouldn't beat Nog by fighting off his back and I don't think he would beat Randy that way either. Fedor has a great sweep though and if it comes early he may finish Randy, so Fedor is a clear favorite in that matchup. But I wouldn't be surprised if Randy has great sweep defense these days.

Yep. Some of their skills weren't as sharp as they've shown in the past and Forrest admits to this his post fight interview.

Shogun had sloppy takedowns that made Forrest's takedown defense look even worse by falling to them. Shogun also gave his back too much but at least Shogun showed good gnp with the elbow while it doesn't look like Forrest's works on his gnp from guard much. Forrest did have good clinch defense though and did a great job of tying up Shogun when he was under him or scrambling back to his feet.

haha the houston alexander hype train is out of control

he is like the ufc version of Sokoudjou :lol

thats actually a matchup i'd like to see, ufc needs to sign him

There was a hilarious one of the weigh-ins with diaz and gomi, with gomi looking at nick's crotch with the title ENVY. Post that one :lol
