In a majority, the Cons would not destroy, but regress. Here are some of my fears from the top of my head.

  • As mentioned earlier in this thread, the Tories have an appalling history on gay rights voting.
  • The Tories' economy-fixing cuts will not effect the wealthiest of the country, only public services.
  • The Tories will likely reinstate fox hunting.
  • The Tories will likely move against voting reform.
Basically, the Tory manifesto seems based on the 1832 principle of "reform so you may preserve." At best.

Can you imagine how the heads of ITV/Sky News must be feeling watching the BBC's coverage? :lol Someone is gonna lose their job tonight

ITV lost me with no HD, not that I would have watched ITV anyway.

David sounded rather seductive when he said"could there be a legal challenge?"

More news about queues at Polling stations and people being denied the right to vote...if its close then legal challenges abound at this rate. Dimbleby's rage is palpable, Robinson looks indignant and excited by the whole thing.

Is that Esther Rantzen? Fucking hell.

I won't be satisfied until I see Ed Balls in hologram form.

She's running for a seat in Luton where a MP had to step down due to the expenses scandal.

Every time I get pissed off with the BBC for shit like Over The Rainbow I remind myself how good they are at stuff like this.

1- maybe so, but that does not mean the current Tories are necessariy the same, and furthermore, do you expect them to repeal previous gay rights laws? The great majority of gay rights abuses have been rectified and as such i cannot see why there is such concern.
2 - Evidence? In any case, every party would need to make huge cuts to public services.
3- Once again, i ask you for evidence
4 - that i cannot argue with, but in the end will it destroy the country or have some other terrible effect if voting reform is not enacted in the next 5 years?

Gutting the BBC and Ofcom to aid a dying Murdoch empire, allowing him to bring Fox-News to the UK via Sky. That alone should be fucking scary enough.

This is one of the things that scares me the most. I remember reading of a "you scratch my back" partnership with Tories and News Corp, but it may have just been hysteria...

surely whatever majority they might have would be small and would be gradually cut down into a minority before the next election. It will put any reform out of reach for some time though.

Wow, 11.6% swing to Conservatives in Washington Sunderland West.
Greater swing than Thatcher and Blair.
Exit polls underestimating Conservatives.
If the swing was nationwide it would be the largest since 1945.
