Are results this damn late a typical Brittish/UK thing? Nationwide results don't take nearly this long in the USA, and local results are normally in 100% by 11PM :lol

Bloody hell Britain.... what have you done?

Stopped the Tories from being a done deal (like they was 4-5 months ago)?

Sure i would've expected LD to make a breakthrough, but in my view the damage isn't as great as a Tory majority.

Okay. I also was expecting more LD seats, I was not aware that the Tories had a lock down earlier. (I'm just a colonial :D )

So are ours, and they are counted by hand. We normally have results by 10pm of the day for most seats. We have less people in Australia obviously, but also less people counting. Maybe you just need more counters?

What the fuck happened to the turnout?

People were talking about 75 - even as high as 80% - turnout before 10pm. Here we are sitting at 65% turnout?

I guess the Lib Dem voters thought 'Fuck it, my vote won't make a difference' and all stayed at home.

That is why the SNAFU over the people turned away from voting, and running out of ballot papers may blow up into something much bigger.

Probably lots of students who haven't learnt the difference between theory and practice yet

The problem is that LD are often close to Tories or Labour in vote percentages, but they just cant get enough of a swing to take these seats.

Peter Kellner, YouGov supremo, says at the moment it looks like we're heading for about 310 Tory seats. We're also heading for about 310 Labour and Lib Dem seats combined. With things that close, every seat lost by one party and gained by a rival is very significant.

Wow what the hell would happen in that scenario? Con+Lib Dem coalition? Con minority gov?

LD+Labour wouldn't be enough to form a government.
