40 dollars!?
40 !??

Shiieeeeeeeet at that price. At this point they should've just made it a collection style SF2. Give us the choice to select modes (original,CE, Hyper, etc) and balance changes just like they did with the sprites. I'd drop 40 for that I think.

That price is for Japan, you shouldn't ever do direct conversions from Yen to US Dollars for games prices.

Enjoy those hadoukens, baby!

LOL at folks dreaming of the logical $20. I still can't get over the price. I think we spoiled Capcpom by letting them get away with SFV Season Pass.

That's not fair, no one bought SFV.

I'm going to hope the price listing was a retailer mistake. This game should be a $15 download only release. $40 for SSF2 in 2017 is downright criminal. I bought Capcom vs SNK2 brand new for the same price almost 15 years ago.

Again, HD REMIX had a really bad presentation that just threw people off. Look how ugly the game looks.

Oh I know, I still have the game. I'm not gonna dispute the art, but people pretending the game only had one balance is wrong, There was two.

So this game might have a classic mode. Anyways its Ultra sf2 not super sf 2 turbo or hd remix. Evil Ryu, and Violent Ken depending on how they play throw a wrench in the whole "balance" thing anyway. Unless they get banned for being op or some Jazz.

Gouki is banned from tourney play, banning e ryu and v ken should this game be tourney worthy, wouldnt be anything surprising

I get the feeling that Evil Ryu and Violent Ken will be the exact same as Ryu and Ken, but with stronger special moves and less health. Unless there's a rebalance or these are somehow not zero effort recolour characters, no one's going to care about tournaments or whether they should be banned.

FWIW I absolutely loved SSF2THDR (gotta love that initialism too!).

I wish they'd bring to X1 BC. This news probably makes that less likely, though if this new game ever gets ported to X1/PS4 I'd be happy with that.

Saw this in the leak list and thought it was a joke. Saw it in the conference, still think its a joke. Who do I talk to at capcom to get SF3O instead?

Uh... at $40/50 I will only consider this if it's some ultimate arcade perfect compilation of every release of SF2 ever or something.

Love the idea though.

EDIT:

Now this, I would actually consider coughing up that kind of money for.

I think the worst part of Udons artwork s
Were the stages. Absolutely horrendous. They should redraw those and add in the changed stages from the GBA port.

I know the price is insane, and I get being upset with the art style, but what's the deal with Street Fighter 2 in 2017? Is it not worth playing? Never really tried it before.

It's absolutely worth playing.

I tend to ignore the type of poster who simply writes off an older title with the "in 2017?!?" nonsense.

I haven't read the thread yet, but this is really cool. It will be fun to have an updated classic on the go or at home with friend. I expect it to be ten bucks, but Capcom will probably push it to $15. If it plays well I can see it being worth tha-

...

Oh

The year of shit-posting and reaction gifs

It's a classic game, but not for $40. That's my problem with it. Is that better for you?

To charge $40 which is the same as the great reboot of Ratchet and Clank and other good games for a game released in 1991. It's just absurd.

Maybe for like $15-$20 I could understand. But $40!?

It's brilliant. The only Street Fighter game that I keep going back to (though I would go back to 3rd Strike if I had any way of playing it!).
