Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers [Switch] Confirmed

At this point the only thing that can save the switch is the price of its games. If the games start coming in the 40-60 range when they shouldnt be more than 20, then the system will have a really hard time...

It is entirely possible that this may cost $20 outside of Japan.

I may end up importing this, however- Japan is getting a retail release and it's very likely that the U.S. will just get a digital release.

From Justin's impressions, it sounds like there's some leniency to the input system that was never really there in the ST titles. Easier combos into super, possibly easier combos in general? Maybe some of the SF5 input buffering at work.

Being able to choose the original backgrounds in this is awesome, no idea why it wasn't an option in hd remix. That price is crazy though.

Ken Bogard, trying the game right now in Paris' event says the game is slower, and apparently the voices are from SF4

Just in remixed mode, hopefully. All I really want is arcade accurate SSF2 Turbo with online play. The remixed mode is something I would never touch.

That's immediately an entirely different game then. Not sure about it...

I can see the fun in just playing 1 vs 1 everywhere with the joycons, though.

I understand why they would put next to no effort into the new characters but it feels like if Evil Ryu and Violent Ken were reasonable options they could have thrown in more like Shadow Lady.

$40? GTFO.

Interesting.
I hope that the original gameplay is also selectable, like in HD Remix.

So far, Tech Throws and several changes have been made to the roster. Chun can't store super charge anymore. No sight of HDRemix balance changes thus far. Also appears to just be the HDRemix graphics and not any of its gameplay.

So based off Justin Wong tweets, it seems like this has ST balance with some changes here and there.

You can tech throws in Ultra Street Fighter 2! Hit stun animations are different as well. Evil Ryu has raging demon super.
Akuma air fireball is from ST. Haha the range it has is super OD. Akuma confirmed broken lmao
Played regular Ryu and he is from ST. No fake fireball just straight standard fireball footsie how we love him
Balrog still the same as ST. Has charge petition and can do dash upper into super.
They took out Chun Li store super. Can't store the motion for super anymore :(

Oh wow, all that Sirlin work thrown in the gutter! Lol

Because the most recent entry in the franchise is locked to PS4 console exclusivity.

Capcom is one of the dumbest AAA third party devs in recent memory. Around the launch of DMC4/Dead Rising 2/SF4/MVC3/RE5/MonHun Ultimate/Umbrella Chronicles it seemed liked they had consoles pretty well figured out. They've somehow grossly mismanaged all of their major franchises, even if DmC SE and RE7 end up being good.

Playing with an analog stick seems...less than ideal, no?

They changed the air force logo in Guile's stage to look like the one in his SFV stage. Between stuff like that and the system changes, this is looking less like a lazy HD Remix port with two more shotos, and more like an actual new version of SF2.

...but we STILL don't have a 100% perfect port of ST on any console.

It's sad to think they look like humanitarians compared to what Konami's doing in their house.

Oh dear, that new character select art looks good!

While I liked the Udon sprites, seeing this made me sad because it's like the proper re-rendering of the CPS2 sprites I actually wanted, but limited to just the character portraits :(
